Road King Classic Conversion

I have a 2005 Road King Classic that I am considering converting to a trike. I have looked at CSC and Hannigan kits but like the smoother look of the CSC.
Does anyone have any advice on what works well.
I have some concerns regarding heat and performance with the extra weight.
Any thoughts/help would be appreciated.

Either are excellent kits.
Added weight means less "pick-up" so to speak.
No disrespect intended-but Harley's are not "performance" bikes to start with but, most of us just want a nice ride we are proud for others to see. We are not trying to any 1/4 mile or top end records.
Don't think heat will be any more of an issue converted than before. Harley's are air cooled, as I'm sure all know and will emit much more heat than water cooled bikes.

As for kits, I too like the looks of the CSC....
as for performance, if you still running a 88" motor you most likely will have to go to a 95" build...I'm sure someone will chime in about that.
But I'm also sure that there a plenty of 88" trikes running around and the owners are having a blast on them so don't let that stop you...

Both are great conversions. Go with what makes you happy. Heat will be no more of a problem then what you all ready deal with. Go ahead a convert it as is. If you dont like the loss of performance because of the weight you can at that time pump up the motor to 95 inches or try changing the primary gearing to give your self more low end punch.

My wife has a 05 Road King with a Motor Trike conversion. We bought it with the conversion already done, it had 5200 miles, box stock 88" carbed motor. She rides solo and it was way under powered, for Colorado anyway. She could hardly get over some of the passes, wide open and spewing gas out so bad it would get on my windshield riding behind her. I installed an S&S 111" motor and made all the difference. Lots of power and torque, climbs the passes better than my 96" 2010 Street Glide two wheeler. It is a square motor
4 5/8 stroke and 4 5/8 bore smooth as glass. It cost $5500.I sold her 88" for $2200 so only had $3300 in the S&S but I did do the swap myself, if you had to pay for that it would be more. It was an easy project.
You also might think about the rake kit from CSC another item well worth the money also an easy project.

Here is my opinion. Trike it, ride it and enjoy it. If after a few years you want something else, you still own the trike kit. Life is to short to worry about making a perfect decision.

I have looked at various kits but really like the looks of the CSC Volusia. I think I am going to go with the sissy bar rather than the tour pack so I can keep the smoother lines.
I currently have V&H Slash Cut slip-ons on the exhaust and hope to be able to keep these.

I had an 04 ultra w/ motortrike bumped it up to the 95" power was ok. had a friend with stock 88 motor which he thought was fine, so it really depends on how you ride. But I can tell you the Tri Glides with the 103 motors are a big defference in power.
