I just traded my 2011 for which I just purchased a Rekluse clutch but didn’t install yet. I called Rekluse because my son wants to put it on his 2012 CVO Roadglide. Because I had installed a Motor Trike reverse on the 2011, we got to discussing that exact topic. MFG. recommendation is not compatible. According to them, that clutch locks up at approximately 2200 rpm, and I can tell you from experience you will be going about 20 or better in reverse. Not a good thing. I didn’t care for the Motor Trike reverse, and if I decide to put one in my new 2019 AFTER warranty, it will be the Baker.

It worked for me. 2011 Tri. I got the reverse from Papa Zook last year, I love it. I bought the Rekluse this year for our Sturgis trip. Being a lifetime mechanic, my left forearm is about worn out. Holding the clutch lever for extended periods in traffic is tough for me. The stock springs in the Rekluse lock up at 1050rpm. Maybe the guy who said 2200 has changed the springs? The Rekluse kit comes with the other springs for higher rpm lock-up, presumably for drag strip use. The other thing is, even with the "race" springs, if you let off the throttle and the rpm goes to idle, then the clutch slips as it should. You can always pull in the clutch lever to stop moving too. Since you need to pull the clutch lever to put it in gear, same applies for putting it in reverse. Pull in the clutch, stick it in reverse, then apply a little throttle, back you go, works great! I'm so happy with the Rekluse. I was even to the point of playing with it a little. I would take my hand off of the left handlebar when at a stop light or in a line-up, guys would look at me sitting there with no hand on the clutch. Then I would give it a little gas and move the trike a little, then stop. Got a few wide-eyed looks, it was fun...
The one thing I didn't l didn't like all that much was that you have to use the velcro strap on the front brake lever when parked, because the Rekluse don't lock up. Not a big fan of keeping pressure in the front brake for long periods. Well, I figured something out a few weeks ago. If you put the trans in gear by way of the shift lever, then WITH ENGINE OFF you can engage the reverse. Now the transmission is bound up. Won't move. Just have to be damn sure to either take it out of reverse or shift the lever into neutral before you start it! I think if you let out the clutch with both engaged, you might split the trans case in half...or it might just stall the engine. But I don't want to be the guy who finds out!
Re-read my post, made a little typo about when you put it in reverse, forgot to say let out the clutch, then give it some gas, back you go...then like I said, either let off the gas or pull in the clutch and you stop.
Theoretically I guess you could put it in gear without squeezing the clutch lever, since the Rekluse is slipping at idle. Might as well pull in the lever to make it easier on the trans.
I've also noticed that the "Harley clunk" when shifting into gear is a lot less harsh with the Rekluse, since it is slipping at idle. Another benefit.
I have a warranty that ends Dec 6th, so I'm putting a new electric under warranty. I'm also putting in a Champion reverse,

I have a thin magnet from Home Depot, I can put it in the space in the brake lever if need be. Just leave it on your handlebar. No velcro
