November and still riding

I know some of you ride all winter, however, I have not for many year's, even though I have a down suit which will keep me warm to -60. I usually put her up in October and start her up again in March. With it still being around 60 degrees, and my wife and I can't get enough....I think we just might put on the suits and continue riding this winter. Although I will not ride on snow, salt or brine. 45 days left in this year and then 60 days to March....seems a good possibility this year.

Glad to hear that you both are getting the opportunity to ride this time of year.

Enjoy.ThumbUp

We just had our first major cold front pass through South Florida last night. Temps dipped down to a bone chilling 62 degrees and climbed back up to a bone chilling 68 degrees today.:AGGHH: BRRRRR

I had to have 3 new "sneakers" installed on the trike today. After the install, I took a nice long 4 hour ride dressed in thermals, 2 long sleeve shirts and a thermally insulated leather jacket, gloves, heated grips and seat controls engaged.

Yep, I'm definitely a Florida local.

I lived in So. Calif. for 20 years...and I was the same way, until I moved back to N.C., 37 years ago, now at 60, I just usually wear a hoody.

David, Do you use Stabil or other gas treatment during your riding in the winter?

Yes, I do Ron. I top the tank off after each ride with Stabil and "ethanol free" gas.

When I travel to NC for the summer and ride more frequently, I do not follow this procedure.

Why would one use Stabil in the gas of a trike being regularly ridden, whatever temps are, especially if parking it with ethanol free gas in it? I understand the use of Stabil for storage of gas longer term, like months even.

Just wondering what I missed?

I can not speak for David, however, I believe in sub zero weather, with older model carbs, it helps to prevent any condensation getting in, especially when you are never quite sure if the weather will turn TO bad for a longer period of time and you can not ride as often as you were. IMHO

My hands were taking a beating from the cold, so, after much research and reviews, I decided on J JINPEI heated gloves with lithium batteries for $119.00 including shipping; should be here Tue. through Amazon

I ride at any temperature .....If you dress appropriately you'll be good to go....

Just one caveat if you use heated gear and the temps are frigid 15 or less have extra clothing stored with you in case of the rare occasion of a power failure ; Ie fuse blows' wire break's...Engine dies...Walk to a gas station .... Etc-'Etc....You wont freeze... :cold::cold:

I put seafoam in mine at the end of October and took it out for a good ride to get it all warmed up. Then I loaded it in the enclosed trailer and tied it down. Last Friday I loaded my wife's SUV in the trailer behind the trike and tied it down too. In 13 days the trailer will be hooked up to the motor home and we'll be headed to AZ for the winter. We should be riding the trike in 3 weeks and we can't wait for that!!

Drive safe on your trip down here to AZ.

Suppose to cool off here and rain for 3-4 days this week. Need the moisture for sure.

My trike is not regularly ridden. Also I live in a hot humid climate here in South Florida. The trike is stored in a hot garage so condensation is a potential issue. I have been doing the Stabil treatments and ethanol free gas as a preventative measure for 10 years now with 112K miles on the trike. The trike starts easily even if 4 weeks or 4 months have rolled by. I never have to think about fuel line or injector issues due to condensation, contaminated or degraded fuel.

No ethanol free fuel here ! It wouldn’t sell enough to prosper.

We have too many nitwits driving around to save .02 per gallon . I need to go upstate to get it , then burn the tank full coming home
