I saw this on CBS national news a couple of days ago. They were talking about shutting down one school district. Don't remember which one.
WOW ... Fox News has come to my sleepy town. Not for a good things. We all here have known about this, but, I guess now the rest of the country does.
For several days/weeks (I'm not sure when it started) we have had large numbers of school kids getting sick. A few days ago they shut down all Palisades schools so they could clean/sanitize them.
Now they have announced that all schools have been shut down in the Grand Valley until they all are cleaned/sanitized. There's now some reports that the Air Force Academy has seen this as well, but, I haven't seen them and can't find them so
Apparently they don't know exactly what this is (imagine that, the "practicing" doctors are clueless). This article was in local and Denver News, but, this morning while drinking my coffee, Fox had a "Breaking News Story". And there it was the Grand Valley (loving referred to as Happy Valley by residents), all 30 something schools will be closed at least until after Turkey Day Break.
For any that don't know the geography of "Happy Valley", the Grand Valley is basically situated East/West on I70. Towns that are included are (west to east) Mack, Fruita, Grand Junction, Fruit Vail (basically where I live, but, we're not sure what it is, town? township? street corner?) and Palisade.
Now I'm not a conspiracy nut (I do enjoy a good one and am in no way trying to start a new one ), but, the city and county just tried to float a new bond issue to renovate all the schools in the area, especially Grand Junction High School, which is apparently "sinking". It lost mightily, despite in the blue book (this is a book we get from the government that, by law, has to present both sides of every ballot issue ) not having anyone wanting to post objections.
Something similar happened about 5 years or so ago, the city wanted to build a new "law enforcement center" (Police, Fire, Forensics Lab, and a bunch of other stuff) and it failed by huge numbers, about a week later the town broke ground ... hmmm ... not sure how that happened. I digress (not surprising huh?).
Anyway, the bond failed and a couple days later the school district started shutting down schools for the Norovirus. Now the schools are all shut down. If I was to make a prediction, we're gonna see a rush to "make the schools safe" by rebuilding. Just my guess, but, it's got some merit (maybe not ... but ... if it happens, I won't be surprised). Don't get me wrong, I've heard of lots of people having sick kids ... but, it just seems way to convenient to me. All that said ... I'm still trying to get the coffee off my robe ... spit it out when I saw the Grand Valley on Fox & Friends.
