:)Hello to all, My wife is insisting on an trike conversion. We bought our GL 1800 Goldwing Two years ago and love to ride it, we were riding a V-Star (very bad ride for a passenger) anyway just wanted to say Hi and learn as much as possible from all the great people on this forum. looking forward to the conversion, should be completed in about a month. We have chosen to use MotorTrike, mainly because they are very close to us. We rode their demonstrater for an hour or so and loved it. Any Motortrike owners please respond how you decided on which company to use.

Hello Spyder, welcome to the forum. There are plenty here who ride the Motor Trike. Check with TrikerJim. I know he will chime in. Jump right in and enjoy. Glad U found us.

Hi,

My husand and I have a Motor trike conversion and love it. We just purchased it this past June. He has had a blast purchasing his SAFETY CHROME. Ha. We chose it for the style and looks and price.

Purchased from Adventure Motorsports in Dothan Al. They are good people to deal with. Motor trike has also been good about answering questions. Believe you will like it. What color are you going to have? Safe riding.

My husband and I ride a motortrike conversion--an older one, but what a ride! We purchased used not knowing how much we would ride it, but have ridden about 8000 miles in 4 months, so it's become a passion. We had to have some work done on it and took it to Troup, TX where they did an excellent job and were great to work with. They were great about showing Steve how to do some things on it for maintenance and didn't even hesitate about working on an older model like ours. In fact, the guy said he thought he remembered triking it back in 97 or 98. We thought it was a good ride before we got it fixed--now it's really sweet! Welcome to the forum--the people on here are the nicest you'll find on any forum!

Hi Spyder and welcome to the club!! You'll find that most all of the trike companies offer good quality and service. A lot has to do with the builder you choose. If you've already decided on Motor Trike, that's great, but if you're just starting in the trike world, take time to look around and ask a lot of questions. Get a few rides if possible and then you'll have a better understanding of what you're looking at and what the differences mean to you.
I got my Motor Trike from a friend that fell ill and had to give it up. I LOVE it but I may not like exactly what you or anyone else does. I don't have EZ steer and I like it, but some people can't ride without it. I have the on board air system to change the ride while in motion, which I really like. YOU have to determine what you want out of the trike and then make the call.

If I or anyone on here can help you about the MotorTrike, we'll be happy to..
You might want to talk with Bazooka on here as he's a M/T and Champion dealer/builder. We also have a rep from The TrikeShop (Roadsmith) on the forums. These guys can answer most any questions you may have. Good luck with it and Glad you found us...

Welcome Spyder! Somewhere on this site is a manual for Motor Trikes - Ah, found it! It is a PDF file that is a really good resource, even for our 1500, though it is written for the GW1800:

We have an original MT conversion, I guess it is the "Classic 1", before they started using the air bag suspension. Like it lots, and as newtriker did, we are planning a trip to Troup, Tx. to the MT factory to see about upgrades and learn a few things.
Plus it is a good excuse for a good long ride. (Like an excuse is needed!)

I think you are making a good decision with the Motor Trike. First, it is a well built kit and uses many Ford parts that are easily purchased anywhere. You will not need to, but it is good to know. Second, you are near your installer who can tweak any problems which come up. Your installer is very important. Most of us have EZ Steer which you can purchase from Motor Trike. This is a triple tree which moves your front forks out 4.5 degrees and makes steering much easier. Some do not have it, but most do. I rode my trike 12K miles before installing the new triple tree. I would have installed it right away had I known how much difference it made in the steering. Good luck.

Glad to have found this forum, thanks for the the responce from everybody. We are nearing time to have our conversion ordered. I believe we will go with the Spyder with easy steer. It will also have the onboard air compressor for adjusting the ride. We have our matching Turbo 2+2 trailer to pull, so we will also need the tow package. Our Wing is an 03 Illusion Red with a lot of chrome (a real beauty) if you click on my sign in link there is a picture of us, I am just learning how to post and add things to my messages.:) I am looking forward to sharing our rides and hearing from others in the future. I think it is not about the destination but about the ride, so ride safe untill I hear from all again.

HI,

It appears you are very excited about your conversion and you have every right to be.

We just got back from Thunder Beach in Panama City Fl. and had a great day. The whole week is geared for the bikers. It was exciting being a small part of this.

We also belong to the Goldwing club in our home town and enjoy it very much. We are looking forward to riding to a club picnic next saturday.

We know you will enjoy your Trike when it is completed and wish you many safe miles.
