If the 225$ Is including parts and labor ....I don't think that's out of line......

From what i understand it takes quite a bit of time changing just the air filters on the Hondas...

The air filter is about 2-4 hours labor alone, depending on how many the tech has done. Parts maybe $50-70.

Probably not a bd deal ... and it's something that only has to be done like every 32K

Do you know when the timing belts were last changed?

Since you mentioned the "cruise" filter I am assuming we are talking about a GL1500, right? If so, the GL1500 has two small foam filters, the L shaped cruise filter and the rectangular sub filter. They tend to dry out and crumble over time. It's not an exact science, so I purchased a foam air filter element for a lawn mower and fashioned a couple matching filters. This foam material doesn't break down like the Honda OEM foam does. Mine have been in place for over 100K miles and many years in my 1990se.

I've been meaning too change them too. I recently had the K&N air filter out for a cleaning & re-oil. Would have been a good time I guess, huh?

Another reason I believe we are talking about a GL1500 as the GL1800 has no replaceable fuel filter. Unless, of course, he as an ignorant or unscrupulous dealer that would charge him for one on an 1800.

Let him do it...............Once they're all changed, you won't have to worry about it again, for many, many years.... And then you'll know they all have been replaced at the same time.............
