I had put a bid on a 2004 White Pearl GL1800 ... heard yesterday just before the dealer closed that it had been turned down and the dealer wanted full list on it. $8k. I offered $7.2. I am in a good place right now, so there is no urgency. I can be patient.

I made the offer on this:

    Attachment 80660

Only 10,500 miles. Love the color, but, such is life. I'll wait a month or so and see if he'll take it then ... ... maybe even try on the Tangerine 02 ... LOL. He also has a 2016 Indian Roadmaster ... pretty blue ... but ... that's a higher priced ride and I'm not sure I could turn it.

I suspect Paws and Lady on a Mission have me pegged (guess women just see through me ) ... Paws maybe a little closer ... LOL. Lady on a Mission, I suspect I am a tad fickle, although, I will not trade the FBG. Well ... maybe for something exactly like this ... ... That trike just makes my heart sing, and I've never owned a modern Indian ... had a couple in my youth, mostly chops.

    Attachment 80661

Paws had me pegged the most ... I like to tinker and it's good for my mental health. I thought I could get a two wheeler, do some maintenance, add some of the accessories I have left over in the magic garage and ride it awhile, sell it for a profit or what I had in it, and repeat ... LOL. I also like posting about my adventures when working on the rides.

The GL1800 would be my choice for this, or, maybe a Harley Ultra (the garage is fairly well stocked for both and I can work on them in my sleep .. LOL). That's basically how I got the FBG. Tweety (01 GL1800, ~$1,500 profit, regret selling that ride ... Loved it) The White 08 GL1800 Trike (FBGII, ~$1100 profit), Harley Quinn (2014 Ultra Limited, ~$1000 profit), Helga (2003 GL1800, ~$600 profit) and Jessica (2006 GL1800, ~$2,200 profit, the LCD Screen replacement was huge in getting big $$) were all steps to get enough $$$ to get FBG or some other Tri. It worked and I'm happy with the Fat Bottom Girl.

Not sure if you guys know this, but, if you have a Harley financed with HD and file bankruptcy, Harley will never finance you again. That's why I needed to go the route I went. My dealer (and I suspect most HD Dealers, won't go through any other financiers) I do miss the "undressing and redressing" the old girls ... so thought I'd get back into it for more fun than profit.

I'll keep looking and making offers ... who knows ... maybe someone will accept it ... LOL ... Maybe I should quit watching Counts Kustoms???? Could be getting visions of Grander

The winter is the worst time for me ... The mind goes totally off the rails without something to go crazy with. I'm feeling a trip to Mesquite in my future. Leave the trailer and Jeep there and ride FBG for hours and hours.
Ahh, the truth is out! lol

    You are looking.

Hey, I have an idea! Come spend a week or so out here and help me get the SBS chop done. I want to get that thing riding so bad I can taste it...but things just keep coming up.

Monday, Devin and I had 4 hours scheduled to work on it...but first we had to do a "little" test on a new product we've been working on for a couple of months.

5 hours later, our "little" test was done, and we are redesigning some aspects of it. Will be doing a 500 mile test on it in a couple of weeks when the new prototype is cut.

Anyway...you could spend a bit of your winter here, keeping the crazy at bay, working on the chop with me.

I would love to do that ... I'm not very good at fabrication ... and much worse at tricity .. but. alas ... it's getting harder and harder to get away. Mom is not nearly as independent as she once was. I'm thinking I found a nurse who will check on her in April ... but she has her own family to deal with. A husband and a teenage son. I am planing on asking her "sparingly" so I don't wear out my welcome.

    As for looking

Guilty. And ... look what I just found out opened in my town a month or so ago.

A very large part of me would love to be back on two, but:

    Cons

    1) Not Sure I want to take on that big a purchase as a second ride

    2) With the "bionic knees", I "know" they could handle that, but, "not sure" they could handle that ... it's a confidence thing

    3) there is great peace in knowing the knees don't have to "handle that"

    4) The magic garage is woefully empty of Indian Stuff.

    Pros

    1) Although the blue isn't making my heart sing .... it's definitely making it hum a lot ...

    2) It already has a Rhinehart tru dual system with 4" slip ons and a stage one air breather.

    3) I've peaked at my buddies Roadmaster, and I believe the highway pegs I have and the tour pak relocator will work on it, maybe a little mods ... that gives me room for Harley's Pet Palace. The trunk is removable, so, might not need to.

    4) Kind of miss the smooth effortless touring on a two wheeler, although the FBG is dialed in pretty well and I can do 500-600 miles a day. depending on the route, maybe 700.

I did have one more sorta crazy idea ... ... next October/November, tear the FBG apart, all painted parts off ... take them to Counts Kustoms, let them paint them ... while that's happening, check the FBG out front to back and make a few upgrades, mini apes, axle bearing cap upgrade, oil cooler and filter relocator, maybe a rake kit ... ... at that point, I'd never get rid of the FBG ... I'd have too much of me and money into her .. LOL ... that would be a great time to do ceramic on the new paint too ... assuming you can do that soon after painting.

So ... I've been keeping the "mind at bay" with working on apps for my phone ... but even that gets old.

Was gonna go on a ride today, but, alas, this happened, not exactly a "White Christmas" and a day late, but, just enough to make me not want to take the black trike out ... the White Jeep looks bad enough ... that's her I took the picture over. I went to Einsteins for coffee and a bagel.

With the typical sunshine we get after a snow skiff, the roads were wet and muddy.

Convert an Indian motorcycle to a trike, makes a pretty nice looking trike. Just saying Fuzzy.

I know .. I've seen a few .. really sharp ... I'd have to trade the FBG ... and not sure I want to do that.

I always wanted to test drive a Indian trike. But know the price would never let me buy one. So I stayed away

After a well timed trade on a new 2019, I have a little more than HALF in mine what

a CVO would have cost me (about 27K after trade) so I'm really happy

The 2019s and 2020s really ARE a cut above all the older ones, especially the steering

and the needed additional torque the 114 gets you. The new 2020 MSRP on a base vivid black is down to 34,999 and you KNOW they'll work on that, plus if you have an older unit you MIGHT be surprised what the trade difference is, just don't ride a new one if you're not prepared to trade. After riding my new 2019 then getting back on the 2014 I was hooked.

I like that white one and a 117 plus those power seat options would be nice, but not 53-54K nice

That Indian looks nice as well, I'm happy in the place I'm in with my 2015 Police unit and my 2019 Tri glide which are BOTH paid off!

During our "steel toe tour" of the York, Pa. HD plant in Sept. 19, I was amazed at the amount of CVO trikes on the build line and the ones sitting that were completed. There is a demand somewhere for these high $$$ beauty's.

I'm not a fan of Indians, sorry about this, never have liked indians from day one, have always been a harley man. Now as the trike goes, don't like that either, it would take a long time cleaning the front and rear rims for sure since most of it is covered and personally I hate that even more.

    All for now Trampas

P.S. I would rather have a honda trike than a indian, just me, Harley all the way for me

All's I know is after I rode that Black '19 Tri Glide it was all over but the cryin and check writin for me. Nicest easiest handlin/steering Trike I've ever rode. I love that clunky shiftin 114 with a ton of torque (which will get better after a fill with REDLINE I'm sure) And it looks GREAT sittin beside my vivid black '15 FLHTP

I'll be honest, I'd do it with two small changes. I'd get the body kit with the speakers below the passenger, and I'd get a taller windshield. So that's going to add a few bucks, but honestly, what's a few extra if you are alreadly over $50K?

I absolutely love my 2010 ultra though. I've had it just over a year and I'm very glad I made the switch.

Without question, the windshield would go before the scoot left the dealership. It would also get floorboard extensions and, CD magic strobes. Both the taillights and the tour pack. Had them on both the '16 & '17. They sure keep peeps off the afterburner.

Just as an FYI, the covers on the rear wheels come off for cleaning/wheel removal.

Okay ... Looks Like my "searching" for a "flip" is not gonna happen any more ... my dealer actually raised the price of the white 04 Wing, like close to $1K more ... maybe because I have shown interest in it ... ... but that has put it out of my "flipping/fun" budget. So, It's just me, the FBG and Guinevere ...

    Hey Fuzzy!

Been "snowed" under the last 10 days (not the kind of snow you get...lol)

Reading you're post, you're going a million miles a minute in your head. Hope you've been able to get out for some rides!

Putting the FBG how you want it with the paint is a good idea...but you will need another ride while waiting for the paint to get done.

Here's a trike I saw last year that really caught my eye-

My local HD dealer has really ticked me off ... I do most of my own work, but, it's nice to have a dealer I trust ... this one not so much anymore. Anyway ... yep, the head is really running a bunch ... Seriously considering selling the FBG and getting a Gold Wing two wheeler.

Having said that, all plans are on hold until the head medical issues are taken care of. Maybe they are caused by the cabin fever chaos in my head ... LOL ... but, until the headaches, light sensitivity and the matted shut eyes are resolved, I don't think I'll be riding anytime soon.

I gotta admit, the Indian trike is sweet. The new Indian dealer in town has a 2020 Loadmaster in that color, only two wheels, but, sweet enough to make me drool.

I just read that and did not know what you were referencing. Poked around in the forum a bit and found your post on the subject.

Gonna share it with Mary when I get home. We'll be including you in our prayers.

By all accounts ... it's not "life threatening" ... however ... it is a pain in the b$tt. Can't go anywhere without ear plugs and sun glasses. Sensitivity to light and noise just drive the ache to new levels of "ecstasy". Good news ... being retired ... don't have to go anywhere.

Been hanging around the house playing "Tiger Woods 2004" on my PS3 ... who says I'm not woke ...

I had made them an offer of $7K which they said no to. Got a text today saying the sold the trailer separately and would take $6,996 for the bike alone (they have just lowered the price, not a special deal). I told him, no thank you, but that I would do $7K on this with the caveat that I could give him $1K (refundable) and he would hold it until the medical stuff is resolved. I explained this would not be a "quick flip" like Helga and Jessica.

He said he'd let me know. I cam't imagine he'd accept the caveat, but we'll see ...
