Has anyone figured out where the dreaded droning sound is coming from on the freewheeler? Or what could be causing it? At 60 MPH it is driving me nuts.

Might be good to tell us what year. My
2019 does not do it.
Sorry about that, still early. I'm on a 2019 FW. On my 2016 FW I had the same 60 MPH drone. On cruise control at 60 ( 58 to 62) it has this cycling up and down droning sound.
It's cause your exhaust is mounted vertically. I'm sorry, I couldn't help myself. Seriously, what slip ons are you using? Are you using the same after-market mufflers on the 2019?
Bike is bone stock, except for the 14" apes and clip on fairing. Will take off fairing later, could be kicking sound back at me.??
Yeah, maybe that's it. Did you have the fairing on the 2016 also? I've never had one but I reckon it could change or amplify certain sounds. Good luck with your quest.

2019 Tri-Glide.......
Thanks rhino 2. i'll see about picking some up. willing to try anything. And yes I had the fairing on the 16 also. I'll also try a different gear to change the rpm at 60 and see if that changes anything. Guess I'll go for a ride this afternoon. Well I took it out, not the speed but the engine RPM. 2500 to around 2700 sets up the drone, not matter if in 4th., 5th., or 6th. Might be the fairing, will find out when it warms up. Thanks for the input.
Isn't it under warranty. I can tell you that my 2017 doesn't do that, but I know that doesn't help.
You could be onto something with the fairing. Please keep us informed as I have never heard of this before.

My 2015 Freewheeler purrs at 60, really loves 75. The Vance & Hines slip-ons, dual header, muffler extension, tuner and air cleaner kit really made a difference.

I used to have a real problem with droning. Changed turn down exhaust to straight pencil tips, that change killed my drone issue.
