Happy belated & in joy the new skin!
I have had two for years, one for driver and one for passenger. I purchased them from Alaskan Leathers and they had elastic straps that went under the seat to hold them on. easy to take them off in case of rain or if you want to lock them up. I am sure you could rig up some straps. Happy Birthday!

Mine came yesterday. This thing is plush ... much more "fur" than my old one ... really nice.
Really nice ... even comes with a tool to brush it ... LOL ... not sure that will get much use, but who knows.
Ordered it January 15th, arrived January 23rd ... 8 days from Canada ... not too shabby. Haven't tried it on the seat yet ... raining and chilly today ... so maybe this weekend. For $69.90 including shipping, this is a steal ...
Mine is also came yesterday really soft perfect size also

So, I’ve heard not to buy black because it will fade, what is your experience? Black or another color?
2018 115 anniversary Tri glide, 2 +2 narrow sweepers, DK comfort lift, DK tour pack relocation kit, pro action shocks, power vision, fuel moto air cleaner, s and s mufflers
So, did you all just cut a hole for the backrest and lay it on, do the edges flap when you are riding? I’ve looked at a bunch of different companies, none this inexpensive. But all others had some kind of straps or elastic to hold them on.i think I’m going to get one of these, can’t beat the price and the pictures look great

If you look at my pics, you'll see that I tucked the back (passenger section) under the "flap" on the tour pak, and I tuck the sides under the passenger hand holds. After it is like that for a few days ... probably this weekend ... I will notch the skin from the underside just big enough to allow the back rest to slip in. The "hide" is tough enough that the last one I had still hasn't "split" where I notched it. The fur is coming off some, but, the skin is still intact. A) It is not under any real stress, B) I make a hole at each end of where I plan to notch it (crack propagation relief ... not sure it applies, but, couldn't hurt).
I take the front of the skin back until I find the slot for the backrest. I mark the skin at the width and location I need. Pull the whole skin off, punch a small hole at each end of the slot I need, I use a hole punch, I think it's 1/3", then used a razor knife to slice the skin between the holes. The backrest holds it on with the hand holds and tour pak flap, the front doesn't move ... my fat A$$ pretty much holds it down ... ... sometimes the front half will slip a bit when I get on, but, I just stand on the boards and straighten it, sit down, and it don't move again ... LOL. The fur kind of pushes into the slot when the backrest is put back. It does make it a little tougher to put the backrest on, but, I've been putting these on for so many years, I can do it with my eyes closed. Of course it's not rocket science.
Ours is black. It is somewhere between 12-15 years old, seen hundreds of thousands of miles and a lot of sun.
When looking closely, it has definitely faded and has a bluish tint to it.
You can see the difference in the photo below of the black vinyl and the sheepskin.
