New Trike is here

Dealer called this morning, new trike is in. Hauled the 16 over & they will start moving some parts . All tires to be swapped as I just got a new Avon on the front & Goodyears on the rear. Garage door opener , seat, Trike Mirror Polished SS Wheel Disc, Reach handlebars,Edge Cut grips & a few other things. Also they are going to see if they can swap that vent in the fairing. HD in all their combined idiotic wisdom, did away with the closing button. Prob saved them a $1. Anyway SM thinks he can swap it. I hope so. Don't like to ride with it open. And of course the week end is going to turn to (&^&%.. At least it will be ready for the Hill Country mid April.

I asked about the vent (my friend is a Harley owner) and as you stated you cant close the vent. Will test ride it in the wet no doubt

Excellent news Bill, congrats on it coming in earlier than expected.

Have to thank my dealer for that. They called HD & said "look,we have this bike SOLD, no reason one can't be here sooner" and one got shipped a couple days after the call. I didn't even ask them to do that,they did it on their own. This is my 4th new bike from these guys.

I asked about the vent (my friend is a Harley owner) and as you stated you cant close the vent. Will test ride it in the wet no doubt

Guess I’m in the minority as regards deletion of the vent . . . or others like me just haven’t chimed in. Personally I never ever closed the vent and I’ve ridden in some frog choking rain and never had a problem. I do wear a modular helmet so if perhaps I used an open face helmet ⛑ it would be an issue. But for me not being able to close the vent isn’t a problem.

No Way Jose. I quit going there a few yrs ago when they were selling marked UP prices with whatever add-ons they wanted to put on. Last time I looked they were not putting MRSP prices on the bikes.

I agree with you on this. I always leave it open because it really helps with modular or 3/4 helmet buffeting. Doesn't seem to make any difference in the rain either way, but in a heavy rain I close it until I stop somewhere. I don't ride in what I call heavy rain. Too many idiots on the roads in dry weather, let alone hard rain!

Not a lot of fun when a vehicle passes you and pulls right back in front of you when it is raining hard.

I never close the vent either. Mainly because I have the H-D windshield pouch which partially covers the opening and so I don't even see it. "Outta sight, outta mind" thing I guess! The pouch is raised above the opening so it still allows air to flow through, but it's never been an issue when riding in the rain. Guess that's the other reason I don't close it.

Rain up here is different to where you are I guess because apart from frog choking rain, we also get duck grounding rain, whereby ducks cant fly

Anyway $93. when ever they get it done I will get the part# if you still want it done. I am having it as I never liked the vent open. Hey Pat, I had just done the radio face shield. When I got them I ordered the 2 pack. It will be too small for the 20. If you would like the spare, it's yours. Let me know & I will bring it to K ville.

I would appreciate the part number and any issues that you run into (hope not) with the fit.

Even though I am new to the family of HD bikes I found it strange that an option to change from a flap being able to be closed and opened to "just remain open" was interesting (cost of manufacture I guess).

Thanks for wishing me the best of luck regarding the surgery, but I have severe nerve damage in both hands, so anything could/might happen we shall see. Won't stop me riding at all
