Dairyland insurance

Bill, I had Dairyland years ago - maybe 20 - but no experience with claims. I recall that Dairyland like Progressive had a great rate the first year but upon renewal not good at all . . . and this was with no claims, tickets, etc.

I went with Foremost in 2005 and I've been with them ever since. I've shopped it a few times just to check that I was still getting a good premium and I was. Have not had the 'funny' stuff upon renewal and I've had a few claims - on was for a totaled bike that was just one year old. They bought me a brand new next year's model and handled the claim quickly and fairly. Everyone's experiences are different and rates depend on several factors including location so it's really hard to say which insurance company is best. But for me and my situation I'm sticking with Foremost.

Good luck in whatever you decide on.

Not to sure why you are shopping, guess you don't like the one you have now. Guess what, it is a crap shoot out there, some are good with reviews and some not, but most of them give a good rate the first year and then bam, they raise it the second year, have been thru at least 3 of them and they all gave good rates the first year and then raised it the second year, I got ahold of harley for insurance and they recommend for my area the name and I went with them, raised it the second year, dropped them, way to much of a increase, finally settled on my bike insurance where I have my truck insured, they just started insuring bikes again after so many years of not, have had them for several years and haven't raised it at all, now granted I'm paying the same on my 2018 as I did on my 2016 but I can live with it, have looked around and the coverage I have now is better than with the other company's I checked out.

I did have dairyland for 1 year, no claims and good rates, my agent quit carrying them and I could have stayed with them but chose not to and that was 40 years ago.

All I can say is shop around you might find out the one you have now is good unless you are wanting to get somebody else, they all raise rates the second year basically and some don't, that is why I stay with who I have they haven't raised at all, the company I have is Nationwide have truck and bike with them, but I have dropped them on my truck, it got way out of hand for price, still have bike with them and that stayed the same, I'm surprised since I dropped the truck.

Good luck

All for now Trampas

Don't know if you checked with Jim Palmer

at MotorcycleAgent.com he is a sponsor for

this site. I just got a 2019 tri glide and got

coverage thru him. He has coverage that has

replacement for a used bike, but only for a

year old one. Wouldn't hurt touching base

with him. Congrats on the bike and good luck.

I have had Dairyland for over 25 years, never any problems. Make sure to get ALL your discounts. I pay 1 dollar a day for full coverage including towing

This is what I was looking for. Thanks Jack. I went with Jim Palmer as the agent (forum sponsor on this site) .Just a little more than Allstate, but, much higher coverage & replacement for bike . Very nice to deal with. Allstate would only pay value at time of total loss.

Just what I did.

I had Dairyland for a two wheeler. Price was good but claims not so good. I had a truck fire that took out the cargo trailer with the bike in it. They doubted my story and had to send pics of the fire. They lowballed the price to lower it below the deductable. And would not cover the 2 brand new helmets we bought on the trip because the receipts were burned up, even though we provided a copy of the credit card statement. They only gave me $50 for our leather jackets because they were two years old and would not cover the GPS because it wasn't built in! They were very rude and never returned calls. Our independent agent even tried to help and gave up and quit representing them.

I went with Markel Motorcycle insurance last June.

At the time they were the best coverage & rates I could find & I revisit it every year.

Full replacement cost, deductible reduction every year & towing.

Bill, I have had Dairyland for several years now. I had Progressive but they kept raising the rates and I switched to Dairyland for a 40% savings for the same coverage. Never have had a claim so don't know how they are on that. Renewal is coming up and I will probably shop around this year to see if there is a better deal. Got a quote through HOG last year at renewal but Harley was significantly higher. Good luck!

Thanks Danny, I worked with Jim Palmer on here. He offered 3 diff plans to me. I already knew my new rate on the 2020 would go up $21.(329 a yr) Well,I added another 25 to that & got so much better coverage, plus replacement. He had 2 plans lower with what most buy, But, in this "sue happy" world we live in, I took the much higher protection plan. Jim is now a sponsor here & great to work with. Take it easy with your back so we can see you in Kville.

Motorcycle / Trike Insurance Is Our Specialty

Focusing on Powersports Coverage is what makes my agency unique. Here you will find a resource for your "toy's" coverage and protection.

We've partnered with multiple insurance companies because the options are NOT 1 size fits all. One rider will match better with Allstate than Dairyland--while a rider in another state is the opposite.

Remember it is YOUR coverage and YOU need to understand the options. We do our best to present multiple coverage scenarios and be YOUR advocate--from policy inception / renewals / claims / ect.

1. NO Agency Fee or Brokerage Fee - Some agency will charge a fee to write or service a policy. We get compensated from the carriers directly. The cost of the policy is the same with or without an agent. Essentially our services are free.

2. The MVP Insurance Agency is licensed and appointed in (18) states: Alabama, Arizona, California, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Louisiana, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Ohio, South Carolina, Texas, Virginia, and Wisconsin.

3. The MVP Insurance Agency is partnered with: Allstate, American Modern, Dairyland Cycle, Foremost, Progressive, and Safeco--to offer some of the best Powersport Protection available.

4. Unique Coverage / Benefit Options:

  • Replacement Motorcycle & Accessory Coverage That Never Expires (No Depreciation)
  • Trike Conversion Kit & Sidecar Coverage
  • Diminishing Deductibles
  • Accident Forgiveness
  • Roadside Assistance & Trip Interruption
  • Disability & Death Benefits

5. DISCOUNTS! Almost every commercial is going to brad about how much they are saving riders. These ads are hard to follow as the savings is off the "Full Price" that is almost never used. We will help ensure you take advantage of all the applicable discounts:

  • Advance Quote
  • Anti-Theft Devices
  • Association Membership
  • Easy Pay Enrollment
  • Homeowner
  • Loyalty
  • Military / Veteran
  • Motorcycle License
  • Multi-Policy
  • Multi-Vehicle
  • Paid in Full
  • Paperless
  • Preferred Customer
  • Prior Insurance
  • Safety Course
  • Violation Free
  • Many more--of course these aren't available with every carrier in every state.

6. We can prepare a Personalized Coverage Comparison like this: https://motorcycleagent.niftyquoter.com/proposals/1188604?t=dfe56757ad2551

Riding motorcycles is FUN--let us assist with your insurance and protection piece so you can get out and ride!!

Just did the same thing as you...switched from Allstate to Jim and saved, along with getting better coverage.
