How to remove HD badging off fuel tank with out damaging paint on tank

Thanks to everyone who gave some advice on how to do that but,at this time I am going to hold off for now.

Welcome. I have heard of using a strong fishing line, wrap in around a couple small pieces of wood and use it to slide behind the badge & saw through the adhesive slowly. You may need some GooGone to remove the remaining adhesive residue.

Unless the bike is relatively new or is black, you'll likely regret removing the badge(s), as the surrounding paint will be noticeably faded vs what's protected from UV under the badge. In other words you might find it needs repaint no matter how careful you are in removing the badge?

Just something to ponder...

The idea mentioned of using fishing line or another "soft" non-metallic, like substance, to carefully "saw" it off is going to be your best way without scratching the clear or base paint. Good luck.

Use dental floss in a sawing motion,keep it against the badge and not the tank then use goo gone to remove the remaining tape.

Just Curious ... Why? I can see removing them if your gonna Air Brush the or something like that ... If your gonna do it ... fishing line and WD40 ... I used that to remove the side reflectors on the rear fenders on my 15, will do the same when my clearance lights arrive and I install those.

I removed mine mate. Sold them on eBay and replaced them with the cvo Willie G ones.
