Alan, I cannot figure this guy out. He has said many times his God is OK with his life choices, tho he has Never said who his God is. He also quotes scripture out of context to suit his life choices. It is very easy to do, I see it as condescending and holier than thou. I don't think America is ready for him or his what ever you call his (mate) poor choice of words

So ... who or what can you think of that does just that, we have been warned over and over again about the great deceiver ... History is chock full of societies that have fallen to the theory that by being tolerant to the "whims" of their people, everyone can get along and prosper.

A few examples:

Rome

France

Brittan

Germany

Of course, some good did come from this ... The United States was formed because the King of England had become immoral and turned from the Church. This led to the Protestant Reformation, which also led to people getting on a boat heading to an unknown land to escape religious persecution and, when the King tightened his grip on those people, trying to maintain control, they rebelled and the US was born.

I pray every day that we do not follow the footsteps of these misguided folks.

This country was founded on one premise ... "In God We Trust" ... it's on our money, it's in our court rooms ... I hope it never leaves our hearts. If we learn nothing from the Bible, history, past and present ... it's simply this.

“How do you turn someone into a monster? Let him be himself without restraint.”

Seems we are to be tolerant of everything ... except what and where we started ... History wiped out, Monuments torn down, Legal Precedence destroyed, and rights obliterated. All the examples I listed above had the same issues. Even Hitler in his early days preached tolerance, right up until he gained momentum and turned on anyone "not like him". Just 75 years ago, Hitler was hated by every living being, even the Germans ... now, we are supposed to tolerate Holocaust Deniers ... It simply blows the mind.

Who in their right mind would say possession of Heroin needs to be de criminalized? This proves his evil intentions to me very clearly. And I take great offense @ his playing the christian card all the time. He is NOT a christian IMO and that will NOT change until I see him change his way of life. This is NOT negotiable by the God I know and trust

It upsets me greatly too ... but ... I was told something by a youth paster on my ship years ago. He was my age, but, the title was because he was not Ordained. Having said that, he was one of the smartest (in the word) people I've ever met. He told me. "Hate the sin, not the sinner." He also told me it was from the Bible, but, I have never found it, guessing it was his interpretation of what he read, and I'm good with that. I'm not very good at "hating the sin", it's easier to "hate the sinner" ... as most of you know ... LOL ... but every time I "Hate the Sinner", I am very convicted and regret it without fail. That in itself is proof enough for me to believe it's from God, even if I can't pinpoint it in His word and that it is His will.

As for it being "NOT negotiable by the God I know and trust", I agree, God loves him as he does the rest of his flock. God will never give up on him, so I suppose I shouldn't either. It's just hard for me to remember he (the sinner) has Satan whispering in his ear.

There is a line from a Mash episode (go figure), "Judgement is a sword, I'm not allowed to draw." ... something else I am very poor at. If God can forgive, forget and welcome him to His arms when he repents (remember the prodigal son?), who are we to not do the same. ... Guess that's what makes Him God .. and Not me, even though I sometimes think I am...

Profound words Alan I know I should not get so twisted up over Mayor Pete and his take on God. He will ultimately either confess he is in bondage to sin and cannot free himself with out Jesus Christ or suffer the price of eternal death. Nuff Said I am a sinner , without Christ in my life all hope would soon be crushed
