So Harley is ignoring any Owner with a Mac. I went to the dealer today and they can't update the maps either. You have to have a windows machine.
So, I called customer service ... or should I say lack of service ... they advised me that my best option would be to have a friend that has an IBM computer assist me to get the app updated. I don't know anyone with an IBM that could do that. I asked if Harley was actually saying they didn't care about any Owner that preferred macs. I was told not at all, Harley likes all their owners. When I asked to speak to a supervisor, I was told he was the highest person in customer service. When I asked tp speak to Willie G., he actually hung up ... I'm upset.
Apparently, the procedure to update the maps is as follows. You need to go to Naviextras.com (which I did), download their toolbox software (again, only works on IBM), then you create a flash drive that "marries" itself to your bike, the flash drive downloads info from your bike. Then you have to take the drive to your IBM, plug it into the toolbox, it will then provide you a list of Maps available to your bike for purchase. You then purchase the maps, download them to the flash drive married to the bike, take it to the bike and download the maps to the bike. Really, I'm supposed to go through all that??? With a friend???
Nope .... I think I'm officially looking for a new ride!
