Honda has just released photos and specs on the new 2012 Gold Wing. There are not as many technical/powertrain changes as many had expected but some fairly noticable styling changes. The stated availability date is May 2011.

Nice! Looks more and more like a BMW with each passing year.

Stallion #406 // 2013 Tri-Glide
I guess I am a little disappointed, I was hoping for an automatic wing, that I could covert into a trike. O well I will be able to save my money for other toys and just stick with my paid for GL 1500 Roadsmith.
I also agree with the BMW comments

I like the looks, but not enough to consider an upgrade. Some features remind me of Victory, which I don't like. They decided to remain with 1832 cc engine and what about the transmission? Is it 6 speed yet?
GL1800 with 2009 Roadsmith Trike Conversion, Traxxion Suspension and much more...
They must have run out of design ideas. Front half BMW. Back half Victory Vision. Just sayin
Wonder why they didn't change the looks of the trunk also.
Thanks Zook for the info from Big Red....I'll keep my order in place for the new Beemer...P.S. Your pipes for our Stallion fit, look and sound great!
Startin' to transfer the "Side Panel Look" of the VFR1200 over to all the other Models. The New CBR250R even has this same look.....not fond of the "squarish" rearend, but, like most things, it will probably grow on me eventually......Me, for One, am glad They left the 1832cc Engine intact...why mess with probably the Best Motorcycle Engine ever built to this day.....

Hey Bill, let us know when you get your new BMW. I'm at the Hannigan Plant in Murray, KY training on Hannigan conversion installs and there are several BMW K1200LTs and numersous other nice BMWs here, both new and classic <drooling....pics coming!>. Dave Hannigan is a big BMW fan and sells lots of conversions for the K1200s and is looking forward to getting his hands on one of the new K1600GLs (review) for design & fitment of a trike conversion.
I've not owned a BMW or have even been all that familiar with them but after seeing these up close and gleening a bit of knowlege, I'm real impressed....not sure that I like them any better than the GL1800s but thats probably because I've torn dozens of them apart and I'm pretty comfortable with them. I like most of the changes/upgrades on the '12 Honda except for the price increase and the two-tone paint but I suppose it will grow on me...real happy they left the powertrain alone too skuuter.
Glad you like the Stallion pipes Bill! They beat the heck out of the stock exhaust dont they?

I will really have to look hard to tell if its a Honda or a BMW coming at me now that they look so much alike.

Not a bad looking Wing.
At least it still lookss like a wing. So that makes me happy.
I would have one without the airbag.:wtg:
Nice looking Gold Wing. However I did not see anything that would make me want to trade my GW to a new one! Equipment seems like the same ole stuff. I'm not real crazy about colors.
I'm actually glad They left the "Mechanical Package" alone.....Like most new cosmetic changes, it takes a while to adjust to them, and I probably will at some point, but at the moment, I still prefer the "old style" 1800 Gold Wing Body Package......."Time will tell"......

Seen it upclose today in Atlanta...
I think it looks pretty nice but the look is lost once it is triked.
Honda really ought to have a clutch-less option on the GW -- either the HFT from the DN-01, or the DCT from the VFR1200...
YUCK, well to each his/her own I guess but what an ugly bike. I will stay with my 05 Wing. BMW front and VICTORY back? I thought I was the nly one that thought that, LOL
