What do you guys recommend for a 2019 trike with regard to an external breather system and air cleaner? First, are they really needed and second what have you used on your 2019 trike if they are necessary? Thanks

Check out D K Customs.......They are a sponsor here at Trike-Talk....ThumbUp...
Another question. If one does these changes to the bike, do they void your OEM warranty or a future ESP warranty?

I'm going to say yes since harley doesn't do it, it is a after market thing and since it is after market I would say yes, but have been wrong before, I'm sure the EPA wouldn't want it either, I guess it depends on your dealer also, if you have a good one maybe not, if traveling you might be up the creek without a paddle.
Waiting for Kevin to chime in on this since he sells them and few company's do also.

Can you change to a ebs air cleaner without having the bike retuned?, would love to add a high flow air cleaner to my trike. Thanks all

They are not necessary, but your engine will run stronger and longer with one. Here is what the inside of an engine looks like when feeding that hot, oily, oxygen depleted air back into the intake-
Here is the same engine, after being cleaned up and an EBS installed-
I will post a video down at the bottom, with more info on the benefits of an EBS. You can also look at the report that Jack linked to for more info.
Regarding what to use, it all depends on what air cleaner you run with, but here is LINK with options for every A/C out there.
Here is a LINK that has a graphic, showing which EBS fits with every different type of A/C.
Feel free to call or email with any questions.
Any change to the engine, that is not a Harley/EPA approved part, will void the OEM powertrain warranty on a 2017 and up Harley. This did not use to be the case. But in 2017 Harley and the EPA entered into an agreement that violates the consumer protection act. Not worth it to fight their illegal agreement.
There are two options to not having your freedom stifled by them-
1. Simply remove the EBS before taking your Trike into Harley (should that need every arise).
2. Get a real warranty (that runs concurrent with the 2 year OEM) that not only will cover the powertrain if you do mods to it, it will actually cover the Non-HD parts also. It can be had from the company at this LINK.
Here's the video-
