I had a post about bad experience with a motorcycle parts store which has moved somewhere. Not sure if got pulled by administrators or what. I wonder where it ended up?

Spot on QC.....
We don't wish to as they say s..t on anyone. This board is for fun, information and general mickey taking LOL. There are boards where one can lambast anyone they like but not here I am afraid. IMHO
I have been on here a long while and if someone has a gripe about another shop, person or vendor take it up with them...
There you go sermon finished:giggle:
I had a post deleted just because I mentioned the name of another forum. Guess there's rules against them there things. :Spying:
I'm sure none of us want this board to be allowed to degrade to the point "the other board" did toward a certain individual and his business. I just cant believe things were allowed to drop to such a level! Nipping it in the bud, here is greatly appreciated, while each deciding that if you can't post positive, then don't post at all, would be even better.

2014 TRIGLIDE
I guess it's all just a matter of prospective...I come onto this site for information as well as fun and games. I think the original post would fall into the first category. When I was first researching a trike option, I would have prefered to get that kind of information about product and/or service. Just saying- sometimes that information is useful and not just a bitch session. JMHO
That was my purpose in providing the post. I have received a satisfactory response from Kuryakyn so my problem was solved. I was trying to assist others in avoiding the problems I experience without being in the hole $200.00+ first. I also look to these boards as a way to obtain information besides just having the social experience.

I'm extremely new here... as in a couple of days... and therefore probably have no business adding my input. But I've been a part of bike customizing forums for about 6 years now. Often I have seen negative experiences, shared in the proper way, have very positive impact. I've seen situations where such posts have helped steer members away from a bad business. I've also seen situations where a good business, who was just having a tough time, was the focus of such posts and realized how bad it was getting... they later improved and thrived. I would say that the key is in how the negative experience is shared... whether it's constructive or simply bashing!
Just my .02.... now I'll go back to my corner.

This board was set up to help members with personal bike problems and get them resolved through input by other members. Trike Talk discourages trash talk about members, dealers, or parts retailers. If you have a problem with one of these, work it out with the one involved, DO NOT berate on this site. We are a fun group and we want to continue to be seen as freindly.

If you read my post, I wasn't berating anyone. I was just sharing an experience I had. As a matter of fact, I made sure readers formed their own opinion. I didn't want to get involved in name calling, trash talking, defaming anyone's character. Just thought others could benefit from my experience.

I started looking thru here to get information on trikes. I've since ordered a kit from Hannigan.
I would be VERY disappointed in this board if I found out later that several members had trouble with Hannigan kits but were prevented from saying so. Fortunately, I don't think that's the case.
It's one thing to flame a member, a supplier, or a manufacturer, but sharing negative experiences just helps everyone else to be watchful. I sure see no harm and potentially a lot of help in that. For example, it would be helpful to know if a supplier or manufacturer cheerfully honors warranties or does so reluctantly or not at all.

I read the post. It was pretty factual and I presume truthful. Truthful information about bad experiences would be appreciated by several members.
The "rules"? A forum is a private place and the owner/admin or mod can determine whatever rules he/she wants. That being said: there's "flaming" and there's telling the truth in a civilized way. It's like pornography, one should be able to look at it and figure it out.
Perhaps, a forum area for "dealer experiences" would be worthwhile? If ya' don't want to read anything less than enthusiastic, don't read that forum. I will say that reading posts here often feels like everyone is happy about everything...not likely in a real world. Such a one sided perspectve casts doubts on the objectivity and reliabilityi of what's posted here.
If you do have a problem with a dealer or vendor. Why don't you use your rights as a consumer to fight for your money back or some recompence. You must have a consumer act in the USA, so use this to great effect to fight any battle you have with any retailer/company rather wash your dirty washing in public so to speak
There is enough trash going around the world just now without hearing moans & groans from what I believe is a hobby, I get enough aggro at work without looking at it on my down time.............Oooops just been slapped by K, LOL
