A few more shots. The rear brakes are run from the brake pedal through a parking brake cable to the power brake unit in front of the rt. wheel with a lever to operate the PB. Buddy the dog is demonstrating the remote steering. The tube down through the steering head shows the 2 in. of trail. There will be more framework on the side to make it more triangular to the rear wheels. Theter will be triangular wedge shapped alluminum carrier boxes on each side to give it the F 18 look. There will be a "dustbin" fairing around the front wheel.
So, you're building that for the pooch ... I totally get it ... my little buddy thinks the Fat Bottom Girl is just for him.
Looking good!
Interesting way to work the brakes.
Installed shifter and linkage. Was easier than I thought. Shift pattern is the same. Used a tube to extend the shift tube and dropped down from the transmission with a small extension.
Then I replaced the steering rack with a straight rod. No need for the lasge bellows on each end so I used bicycle innertube to brotect the inner tie rod ends.
Looks like you are getting close to a ride! Looking at framing for body panels that are starting to cover engine/trans acess, do you lift the body up and over to remove motor or trans?
I'm trying to get everything fitted and welded on top and then remove the drive train which will drop right out and then flip the frame over to get at all the bottom welds and fit the tin bottom. Then clean and paint the frame and put everything back together. Still have to build the gas tank and the wiring harness , headlights, windshield, front fairing, sheet metal covering and Aluminum cases.
Now comes the time consuming part of a build. Take your time and get it right for you.
Got the hood or bonnet done . A little video with sound effects. Go to full screen.

nice touch!
installing headlights, turn signals, mirrors, instrument panel and windshield support. Also a mock up of the Dustbin fairing on the front wheel. Having trouble bringing up the pictures may have to start over.
Chrome is acting veeery slow.
That's a clever idea for the headlights and turn signals.
