Having said that ... LOL ... I realize that makes this like a train wreck ... you want to look away, you just can't. Sure looks better than it did a 6 when I was trying to get the blood to stop.

I broke a glass and cut my thumb and finger this morning.

So Mom got up, and I decided to change the dressing and maybe the butteries if it didn't bleed too much. Putting them on one handed was challenging and I figured mom could help (she really wasn't much help, except to cut strips ... you know how mom's are ... no matter how old you get ... lots of ... "You should go to the hospital" and "Oh my God, that looks terrible" and lots of weird noises that demonstrated her concern). Anyway, while I had it opened I figured I'd post a pic or two. These were taken before I cleaned it up. I figured once I got it clean, it would bleed some more. And it did.

I'll be good as old pretty soon ..

If this was the shark bite ... I'd be doing the shocks tomorrow ... LOL ... that never even hurt except when the er doc at the VA put the gauze in it to clean out blood ... that was in the top 5 pains I've ever had. I was back to doing pools the next day. Of course, I couldn't even spell Corana then or now ... but I could spell Chinese.

After cleaning this up and re doing the butterflies, Neosporin and bandaid, it's letting me know it's there. Not so much pain, just tender.

Dang Fuzzy, you lead a charmed life, lol. Just take it easy for a couple of days, those shocks will wait.

I did a dressing change today ... looked pretty good and was able to change the bandages without it starting to bleed ... God knew I was a clumsy bugger ... gave me decent healing powers

Good deal, seems the older we get the longer the healing time

Right now it has butterflies, 2 band aides, then it has paper tape, finally a piece of paper towel folded up and taped with electrical tape to provide padding for WHEN I bang it.

I like electrical tape, easy to get off, and I can control the amount of tension on it.

Last year when i was putting a 8 ft brush hog on out tractor the arm of the 3pt hitch came down under pressure on my forearm i used the blue painters tape to hold a handkerchief on my arm as a bandage, When i had to remove the tape it came off without ripping skin or pulling hairs out..

A butcher gets his finger stuck in a slicer and cuts it off. He spends all day at the hospital getting the stump sewn up, then calls his wife.

"Honey, I'm in the hospital," he says. "I accidentally cut off my finger, but I'm OK."

"Oh, God!" she cries. "The whole finger?"

"No. The one next to it."

Super glue was originally use as. a combat wound "sealer". Only problem. when a wound is bleeding profusely, tough to get the stuff to stay where you want it.

This may be my next "sealer". I've used it many times in the past. When I was doing pools, I would use it a couple hours after a cut when the blood slowed. It kind of "wears off" about the same time that you don'y need it anymore ... LOL.

If you got some powdered alum you can stop the bleeding with it then put whatever you want on the cut. But it will sting a bit too.
