Handlebars

I've got an '09 Tri-Glide, that I absolutely love...However, I traded in a Road King with 16" Apehangers, and I really do miss the Apes; both the looks and the ride. Has anyone changed their bars out. 16" Apes, I think would be a bit much, as there is a lot more 'steering' done with the Tri-Glide than with my old Ape King. The stock bars seem to be a little too low for my taste. I would think that 1 1/4 bars minimum, maybe 1 1/2 (does anyone make them?). Anyway, let me know yourf thoughts..
Thanks

I am in the process of getting Cyclesmith 13" minis on my 2008 Ultra w/ Roadsmith conversion. Won't get to ride it for a bit, but I am anxious to do so. I got so tired of my elbows resting on my knees going down the road.

I put a set of 12" bars on my 10 tri-glide and love them. I could not get all the wireing in the 1 1/4" bars and if I were going to do it again I would go to 1 1/2 bars. Magnum cables make a lower brake line that bolts right in place of the stock lines and they can make you an upper line at whatever length you need.

I got my Ultra (Roadsmith Conversion) back from my indy shop Saturday...the 13" CycleSmith bars are AWESOME! I didn't get an opportunity to ride it, but I did sit on it and check it out. This is gonna be 100% improvement over the stock bars. Going down the road before I could literally rest my elbows on my knees with letting go the bars. Felt cramped & crowded. If it would only quit snowing to get it out on the roads. I know this, I am gonna like this for sure! update: rode it, love it....screw it, let's ride!

user2275_pic4637_1291897536.jpgi have 18 in custom bars 1 1/2inch thick with the special one piece riser made for 1 1/2 inch bars just for road kings. i had 2 sets of apes that snapped in between the stock risers. the bars were 1 1/4 but tapered down to 1 inch at the riser. the torque of the high bars because the trike is all steering no leaning was too much. so i would recommend the apes but get 2inch thick even through the risers get the one piece riser made bye carlini for road kings and they will be solid. burly bars make a 1 1/2 inch ape at the riser if you want basic apes.also carlini makes real nice bars a bit on the exspensive side. if i can help let me know. ive been through 3 sets of apes but finally got it right. i enclosed some pics of my trike with my apes
