    Default Highway Peg Mount Kit

    https://www.harley-davidson.com/stor...-07-5083007--1

Just curious if anyone has used these and had any worry about clearance with the lower fairings?

I have the long arm version on my Police Bike and the wife's 2011 Tri-Glide. Neither have the lower fairing on them, my wife don't want the lowers on hers and my cop bike obviously never had them. We both like them and have no complaints.

I had a black pair I never installed on my 2018 Street Glide Special, returned to the dealer and he replaced with the chrome when I traded for my 2019 Tri-Glide. They wouldn't do a full refund for the amount of time I had owned them but the black ones had like an overspray on them from the paint or powder coat so I never installed them. Only got 5000 miles on that bike before I figured I wanted a Tri-Glide.

Anyway again just curious as the clearance between the bracket and lower seems awful tight. Seen one guy mount the brackets backwards on a Rushmore model but that put the pegs almost parallel with his feet. But there was a tad more clearance doing it that way.

    Thanks.

I too have the long ones, had them on my 16 ultra limited and then moved them over to my 18 Tri glide, have never had any clearance issues.

Colleydog, you live in Australia? Your pics are upside down for us hillbillies . I just looked at your location, we are practically neighbors. I bet I have seen you ridin’ around in the area.

I have the Short Angled Adjustable Mounts like the ones in your link. To keep my heels from getting tired and sore on long trips, I added Stirrups. Have no clearance issues between mounts and lowers.Name: 20190321_190208.jpg

Rick, maybe we’ll run in to each other, haven’t got to ride much this year because the weather sucks, hopefully will change soon. Did you buy at smith brothers?

I had the long ones on my 2016 and now have them on my 2018, have mine set so my heel is on the floorboard or I can put whole foot on pegs, which ever I feel like, generally just the heel on floorboard with the toe on peg, this works great for me, each to their own.

    All for now Trampas

That is how I have mine set love them so many different ways to adjust your feet and legs.

I think the actual adjustment of the mounts will be more dependent on the length of each individuals legs, and whether they get more comfort from having them stretched out further or closer with more bend in their knees.

I have a 33" inseam and it's more comfortable for me to have my legs stretched out further, but also have a rest for my heels, which lessens the amount of pressure I need to exert to keep the feet firmly on the footpegs. For me, tense leg muscles and sore feet/heels makes for an uncomfortable road trip.

As others have said and shown with photo they will fit with no problem with the lower fairings installed. They are much better than just mounting the highway pegs to the engine guard.

I've been using these Short Radiused Arm Adjustables for for years. But I like Highway Pegs with Heel Rests. Gives a lot more options for foot placement.

They are close, but do fit with the fairing lowers.

Thanks for the reply's. And the photos. I knew they would fit just mainly worried about the clearance and bumping into something with the pegs let down and hitting the lowers.

The other bikes I have the long arm version on have never been bumped into anything more than a shin and never moved. I did add more set screws to the top side to keep the pegs more parallel when pulled up. Also the older models bolted up easily, this pair I had to C-clamp the brackets together to get the gap where with the plastic washer is closed up. One was to the point I couldn't even get the bolt started and no, it didn't crimp the crash bars.

I used the cheap pegs, not sure what design I like and they work for what I need.

Wow sorry for the large photos.

I used to use the short offsets, I wanted more leg room so I went to these.
