I have a Endeavor rev. trike, with car tires all the way around. It will act like that when the tires are cold or the road has deep groves in it. Once the tires heat up it is fine. If you are on a old road or one that is bad it will move side to side. Unless there is something wrong with yours, it takes a few miles to get used to a reverse trike. Check the air in the tires, if you have too much it will not handle right. I run 16 in the front and 35 in the back. The more you ride it, the better it gets.

My experience is with a Spyder RTL. Had the same issue. It was unrideable over 65 MPH. It turned out to be front tires that were experiencing tread separation. Another thing that took some time was to learn about having 3 wheels tracking. Had to let the bike go and not try to force it to go straight. A loose grip on the handlebars and all was well. Good luck..... Jim

I can confirm both posts here. Air pressure and loose grip are key then after that, just get used to it. It's totally different than a regular trike or bike. I'm speaking from a Spyder point of view as well.

I placed a couple of calls to Motor Trike and they answered my questions. You can also contact LEOLA MOTOR TRIKES in Leola, Pa. or ACE MOTORWORKS in Glassboro, NJ. They are both great dealers to work with and are very knowledgeable and helpful.

This is the 2021 Canam Spyder Sea to Sky I had for a while until the stereo system went bad and so far it can't be fixed. The bike is in pieces at the dealership. I traded it in for a 2021 Spyder F3LTD, which I had for a few months and then sold it and bought a 2004 Honda GL1800 with the Motor Trike Prowler RT kit. I love variety. I lose money on every deal but I make it up in volume. LOL.

    Gary,

I am unable to send private messages.

I am researching reverse trike kits. Do you mind telling me why you chose the Motor Trike kit. I have narrowed it down to either Motor Trike or Hannigan.

I choose the Motor Trike because it came with the bike so I had no choice. I am happy.

You should be able to get information on the Prowler RT from Leola Motor Trikes in Leola, Pa.

I have a Hannigan Roadster reverse on my F6B Goldwing and was experiencing exactly the same. I got a Wheel Alignment Specialist (not standard tire place) to set it to his 30 years of experience. Then he suggested letting front tires down to 18 PSI from the 26 PSI I had them at. WOW what a positive difference. I also leant from this site about the importance of noticing where the rear wheel was tracking and keeping it off the crown. Much Much Better.

Yep......If you don't keep the rear wheel off the crown, You get the Tail-Wagging -The Dog-Sensation.....Glad you got it sorted out......

Default Prowler RT on my 2008 Goldwing

Am about to be a new reverse trike rider. Noticed that one of the guys in this thread talked about running car tires front and rear. Would like to know more about that. Had heard somewhere else that was a possibility. What kind of tires do you use and do you get the Honda dealer to mount them?

    Default PROWLER RT on GL1800

    Feb. 22, 2023

Hi there. Are you and I the only people that have the ProwlerRT kit installed ? I haven't seen one anywhere in New Jersey, Phila.& Delaware. From what I have learned from Motor Trike, they only sold about 150 of them since they came out in 2016. That's not very many, is it ? LOL

I just wanted to know how other people felt about the ProwlerRT. I enjoy it and feel very safe when riding. I have car tires all around. The only problem is that it is very hard to make a tight U-turn. Other than that, I am very happy with my ProwlerRT.

It's my understanding MT no longer produces the prowler nor does Hannigan do theirs Endeavor is the only front wheel conversion company in the US right now except for TMW which is more of a novelty thing. The big issue with the prowler is the wide front tires. Your scrub will be erratic which will cause major handling issues. Best practice is run the air pressure down to 14 or 15 psi as this will help keep the scrub consistent. Loose grip on the bars as tense grip leads to over corrections. Other than that there is not much you can do. I wish I could offer more but it's a general design issue.
