I got an email from HD today, and I qoute:

"Harley-Davidson is discontinuing the H-D™ Connect Service on 2020 Touring, Trike, and CVO™ bike models, which was included with your recent purchase of your Harley-Davidson® motorcycle. H-D Connect will be deactivated for all 2020 Touring, Trike, and CVO™ bike model users on August 31, 2020.

2020 LiveWire® customers will continue to receive the H-D™ Connect Service. This service will also be extended as a FREE service"

they will be refunding anyone who paid for the year for any additional years.

Guess it's just one of a list of things HD will be getting rid of slowly but surely.

I just finally got it installed on my 2020. Took them 2 months to get it up and running for some strange reason. Never really got a chance to try it out other than to see my security was turned on and what location my bike was last parked at..

If I recall, Indian is offering a service just like this on their new bikes. Bet they don't cancel on people.

Interesting, I understand the 'why', it's all about the $, of it not working on occasion, the warranty work, and the list goes on.

I have BRP Connect on my 2020 Canam Spyder and have yet to find any useful purpose, but that's just me. There may be others who depend on it.

Interesting that it will continue to be offered FREE for the LiveWire owners. Guess it's just one more attempt to get the New Green Deal crammed down our throats. But ya know ... I kind of see where the LiveWire needs it ... as far as I know, you can still only charge the dang thing at a dealer ... Now there is something I'm all about ... a bike that can only be "filled up" at a dealer.

Imagine taking a trip from Colorado to Texas ... instead of planing it around hotels or other attractions I like, I could plan it around dealer locations ... with a 90 minute stop to "refuel" every 150 miles ... ... might even eliminate the need for highway pegs, comfortable seats, other long ride "aides" ... so maybe it's not all that bad idea. :AGGHH:

Could be the next thing is hotels at HD dealers since you need to wait until you charge up.....hmmmmm

Cool! You buy a bike and you have no way to recharge the battery except at the dealer.

What mental midget thought that was a good idea? Is there a POI of each dealers location that pops up on the LiveWire?

Way to build customer loyalty or at least have them chained to the dealer for life.

I am sure no other brands are laughing at that.:biglol::jumpy::lol::rofl::scooter:

Good Live Wire discussion, what can HD possibly be thinking, do they really expect this machine to be on a big bucket desire list? I do a 40 or 45 mile RTE then hurry home so I can do the recharge? If the ride is like 50 miles, bring the tow rope. :xzqxz:

They weren't thinking....Thats why they Harley has a new CEO......And he's thinking to cut production of new bikes and conjoin dealers to push sales of used bikes....Just the opposite of the Old CEO's game plans.....

This plan will probably change too. Seems to change quite often.

After receiving an email giving me notice from Harley that they are discontinuing hd connect as of end of July 2020. I decided to call and complain. It is nice as it give constant location of bike and notification if anyone moves it. also so give mileage, amount of fuel. When I called they said they were discontinuing because they only have a 15% participation rate when they expected 90%. I said that is part of the bike I purchased 2020 Triglide and was unhappy they were taking it away. They expressed their dissatisfaction with my calling, said sorry and would send me a $300 dollar gift card. I told them they could find my name on a class action lawsuit that would surely be forth coming.

told them I wonder what next will be canceled? Maybe the extended warranty program?

heard today they released (nice term for fired) the Chief Financial Officer, and announced 700 jobs going bye bye world wide. guess they might be the IT Group :D
