fuel question

My 2008 c50 Tramp only gets about 120 miles on a tank of fuel. But....when I refuel I still have over a gallon of fuel in the tank. Can anyone tell me why?

Your Trike (C50 Tramp) is Fuel Injected and does not have a petcock.

It does have a low fuel indicator light though.

Since you don't mention that light coming on, I would think that the pickup or something related to the in-the-tank fuel pump is not properly positioned.

The pickup could have a crack in it allowing it to pull air.

Did or has this Trike been sitting ?

The Green Fuel in use today causes major problems with plastic, synthetics and metal parts.

It also attracts moisture causing corrosion within the tank and those parts.

I would look into the fuel pump for the problem.

Thanks Lee, don't know if I'm replying the right way, I don't know if it has been sitting I bought it in March from a dealer. No green light ever came on. The fuel indicator goes to the last bar and blinks. And when that happens your shut down. I guess I'll take it somewhere and have it checked out. I've never had any experience to know what to look for. Thanks again Lee

If you received a Lehman Owners Manual from the dealer, it should state that because you no longer swing the bike from side to side that sometimes all of the fuel won't transfer to the pickup side leaving some fuel in the tank. Depending on the load and riding conditions, we got 40-45mpg when we were testing them.

When the low fuel warning light comes on, you should have a gallon of gas remaining.

Your Lehman trike conversion is designed to provide you with the open air advantages of a motorcycle combined with added stability.



Adding a trike conversion to a motorcycle may impact its ability to use the full capacity of fuel in the tank.

The vehicle may behave as if it is running low on fuel sooner than it would as a two-wheeled motorcycle.

To avoid this experience, always keep the fuel tank half-full or more.

Thanks again for the info. I'm going to pull it myself and check it out. I have plenty of performance all the time except..... (after 100 miles or so) lol. Maybe I'll be able to get more millage somehow.
