Opinions Please... Anyone use Rinehart slip on exhaust on a M8 Freewheeler???

1 of my local HD dealers has what seems like a good deal to me.

They will install a Rinehart slipon exhaust for $499. Everywhere I look the exhaust alone is more than that.

What do you all say?

Well, it looks like a false alarm... I called the dealer & they tell me the $499 price is softails only & it would be $650 for my 17 FW.

I new there was a reason I liked my stock exhaust.

I have only used Docs HD here in STL for service when it was warranty work & 1 time to install my cool flow fan because they had to program the ECM & they did a great job at a fair price.

I made a parts purchase at 1 of the other dealers when they had a great deal.

I listened to a few sound clips on YouTube on our M8's & I came to the same conclusion...

Great minds think alike.. Exhaust sound is such a personal thing.

I got excited because it seemed like a great price. I'm getting squirrelly because I always liked my stock exhaust. I'm looking to spend my remaining stimulus money. I already paid my insurance for a year.

My kid brother has Rhinehart true duals on his 05 Electra Glide, they are pretty loud to ride behind tho they look good and tuned good Have a look on Flea bay for some take offs for your Trike, then gut them and install Thunder Torques from Kevin, they sound and preform great

I have these mufflers on my 2019 Heritage Softail. Got them for $400 from the dealer and installed them myself. Nice sound but not annoyingly loud. My wife's Freewheeler is still running stock exhaust.

i have 2018 freewheeler that a great price for harley dealer sell and install i bought mine month ago from rinehart with a discount and paid $584- they 4inch mufflers it did make it sound like a harley but if looking for real sound i would keep looking good luck but if that what u want thats a great price installed

Can you do install yourself ? Not sure of difference between Free & Tri, but I changed mine my self. A little tricky. Dont tighten clamp, slide muffler all the way back, then you can tighten rear mounting bolt, slide forward & do front bolt, then do the clamp. If you can ,you may find a better price on the mufflers somewhere on line cheaper. Best of luck

I like Rheinharts, but, they tend to "thrum" at speed over long distances, especially in a full face helmet. It's like ... at least to my less than perfect ears ... The Face and Hines don't tend to do that ... then tend to mellow out at speed in a steady state situation like the highway.

My favorite exhaust is the E-Series, but, if your looking for "Harley sound", look elsewhere. They may not be as quiet as a Gold Wing, but, I'll put my tri against any 14-16 Tri for quietness ... even the stock exhaust. They just have a nice hmmmm to them, while still producing at least as much horse power as the Vance and Hines or Rheinhart ... probably more. At sustained highway speeds, I can still listen to audio books with just the stock sound system, and I wear hearing aides, except while riding.

When Kevin of DK recommended the E-Series to me to keep the pooch happy, He told me the story of how they give Devin of DK grief when he rides up with comments like, "I see you rode the Gold Wing today". and similar jibes. Devin chose the E-Series slip ons because they produced the most HP increase he could find. Can't validate that myself, but, I get all the power I need ...
