    Default Boots

So not to get a thread in the tri-glide forum further off topic I'll start this thread/conversation here.

What is everyone wearing for boots. Opinions on cheap boots versus $exspensive boots. Custom made Boots. US made versus off shore made. My Current pair of boots are a pair of Whites Roughnecks https://whitesboots.com/foreman/safety/roughneck/

I paid less than linked advertised price at a stocking dealer. These are hand made as much as possible. Yes a few machines are used but definitely not a mass produced boot. Was wearing US made Redwings and the particular style was discountinued so in search for a new boot found Whites. I considered https://builder.wescoboots.com/ https://nicksboots.com/ and https://franksboots.com/

I like Bates Boots. Light weight but sturdy. They are easy to get on and off with a side zipper. Comfortable out of the box and they are waterproof. Very popular with L.E.O.s

Have a look @ these, after standing on concrete working all day I found these to be the best light weight comfortable boots

I ride with them also, easy on and off feature built in

I been wearing Wolverine boots for riding and hunting 6 inches high and with speed lace hooks and steel tips model number W103 they last me for years and About $100 thereabouts..And like I do with all boots I 86th the laces that come with them and use the round outdoors laces so I don’t have to double knot them to keep them i’m coming loose all the time..👍

Best thing I found for not having to double knot is tie the laces with what is called a Ian Knot

Cowboy boots, got several pairs . Wore them all my life. Don't go into the dressing up to ride. Just get on and go.

Maybe its faster but whats the rush....Those flat laces will always loosen ....Whereas the round outdoor laces will not loosen even when tied in the Bob knot..AKA; The old fangled way.........

I use round laces and it helps with not needing double knots still.

    Forgot to mention https://hoffmanboots.com/

Bought a pair of their 14 wool insulated pac boots. Loved them deer hunting this year.

Quote you again since you referenced speed hooks. I’ve had boots with them when I was younger. Didn’t know how to use them correctly till I was 30 years old and was working for electric utility company and saw a lineman lace his https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=LB9vIpuYYdc

You will laugh but out of all the boots I have owned and do own, it is a pair of Sketchers boots that are the most comfortable. I have flat Flintstone feet and finding wide comfortable boots is not easy.

I have similar problems. Except not flat feet. I have a very high instep and size 10 6E. That is EEEEEE! (Quack, Quack) The Bates Boots, while not perfect, were the most comfortable I have ever found. I am expecting delivery tomorrow of some New Balance walking shoes size 10 6E. I just may live in them...... Jim

Got My boots at Walmart in 2007..Wolverine is the brand. Good tread. I am sure they did not cost over $50.00... didn’t have much money to frivolously spend at that time. If i could, I would wear them everyday, everywhere...my feet feel SO much better at the end of the day than with any other footwear I own. I have tried regular motorcycle boots a couple of times but they are so heavy and klunky and expensive i just stick with what I have.

Double H cowboy and Wellington boots made in Martinsburg, PA are my go to boot. I also have a pair of their engineer boots they don't make anymore for riding.

I also like Redwing Wellington boots and always wore side zip Bates boots for Fire/EMS.

I wear Justin Basics Roper style Cowboy boots. They have a non-slip sole and are very comfortable for walking around. And they look good too. About $75.00 at Academy.

Justin #3040 … love them. Made in Texas. Wife gave me my first pair in '96, they look rough now but still work. Been worn in rain, sun, bike, car, trike, walked Yosemite (in the rain) & Yellowstone (was dry), etc, now when mowing though I have several other pairs (bought a couple pair {from estates I think} NIB, off Ebay). Gift sizing available on request & I Thank You.

Danner, Stryker, black leather, waterproof, side zipper. Made just for the military, usually desert tan. I met a Danner rep at Ft Bliss Military Clothing Sales and he was making his pitch about boots. I asked about black and he said yes. He got on his phone and gave my sizes and he gave me a build date and I received them as he promised. Best thing I have ever had on my feet.
