Give them a chance , they only been at 117 years they will get it ?

Also, does 9500 miles on the clock but using the front brakes 90% of the time seem wrong that the dealer says I need all new pads AND rotors? I think it's ridiculous.

    thanks
imo 50% or so on the rear... i think of the these two big ass steam rollers... we need to stop all that rolling inertia as well as the trike..

had an 88fl hardly ever used the front and with corvette brakes barely started to wear in 50k

Its a lot quieter seems to have more torque , The stock one has so many parts just in there clanking around , check out the dark horse , the screaming eagle one is not much better then stock , baker makes one that's pretty good , this one has a lot less pieces and its lighter . I will see how long it last ?
Well ROAD DOG I jumped in and had the DH unit installed. Only got a few miles on it but I see what you mean about it feeling like more torque or maybe just tighter. The only noise I get is kind of a whirring sound. I still get a little backlash now and then but that may be my fault as it's so smooth and tight, I sometimes let the rpms drop to 2k or so. I don't think my cams like it there. Still need to put on some more miles.

On one of my other Harley's I got tired of messing with primary issues so I bit the bullet and installed a 3" belt drive. I was amazed with how much easier it shifted and how smooth it was. The cool factor was good also. I wonder if one is available for the TG.

That sounds good except we ride a little boring. All back roads and maybe a lunch stop.

Today I noticed some backlash during compression braking. Wonder if part of it is cam related.

I don't know if things have changed but years ago converting a primary to belt drive with a belt drive on the rear wheel caused nothing but grief with the tranny and clutch.

Default Man O War compensator noise

I have few thousand miles on a man-o-war Darkhorse compensator that installed with a Hayden chain tensioner. At start up every thing is perfect. Quite shifting ,no decell clunking, still hard to find neutral but otherwise a great improvement over worn out screaming eagle. I have tried running heavy 100% synthetic primary oil and 100% synthetic ATF with similar results. When Engine and drivetrain heat up I have what sounds like gear lash from the transmission. I am also running 80/140 synthetic trans fluid which I found silences the noise of most 6 speed transmissions. I know Dark Horse says they have done there installs with the stock chain tensioners however I have not had issues with the Hayden auto tensioners on my other bikes.

I talked to Darkhorse and asked there opinion as to the noise. They feel it is most likely coming from the transmission due to excess clearance with the gears in earlier models, mine being a 2013 twin cam. What has me confused is I don't recall hearing this prior to installing the new comp and don't recall it was an issue when running a Hayden tensioner on my 02 Ultra .

Any input if anyone has had similar issues and fixes or if I have to just turn up the radio.

Is there a reason youre wedded to the Hayden? I think they're crap. I have a Baker on my Dyna but some people say those are crap too. No problems with mine. My M8 has the stock adjuster and thats the way it stays.

I see your point if all is good don't mess with it but my comp was worn out. The Dark Horse is really a reinvention of Harleys steadfast design. All the complaints I've read about the stock adjuster overtighting led to believe the Hayden was an answer to that. If I thought I could get 25,000 miles out of the stock parts I might considering going back to the original setup. Got 6 months to figure it out, to damn cold in the garage to wrench on it now.

IMO, HD has been trying to reinvent the wheel with too many set backs
