Question on lift kits for trikes

I know quite a few here have lift kits on their trikes, I have one also from DK custom products, just curious when you go on ebay and look at lift kits all of them don't have the secondary holes like DK's. and wow, what pricing, very low to high. I know DK's lift started with just regular holes like the stock bracket then went to the second set of holes, I understand his logic for this but all the lift kits on ebay look like regular brackets like DK started with. I know Legends is one, RJS orginals is another and a host of other companies making them and they lift the bike up and look like a regular trike bracket and they fit clear up to a 2019. I know the lift kit I had on the 2016 was a regular looking bracket and it was on there when I bought it. According the previous owner of the trike it came from a place in Indiana which I think is no longer in business.

With these other companies making lift kits that look stock how are these working out on let's say the 2017 and above since the ebay site says they will fit from 2009 to 2019, just curious is all especially with the second set of holes.

i have a lift kit from RJS and my last trike had RJS also along with several of my buddies have them also.The lift kits that do not have the welded nut in my opinion are not safe,sure you can find them on Ebay for very cheap prices.But my thought process is,if you rely on a part to keep your steering safe or your wheels and suspension working properly and you go cheap,you get cheap parts.

I have the DK Lift Kit also, it's well built, has the welded nut, it's been tested by DK and I trust their work. I was in a HD shop I noticed they sell one also, don't know who makes it ?? Enjoy the Ride.

Thanks for the replies so far, was basically looking for why a regular lift kit with same holes as a stock bracket and no secondary holes will work on up to a 2019. I know Kevin says the big weld around the exhaust system is the reason he develop the secondary holes and I understand this, I know if you use the secondary holes you are only losing about 1/4 of a inch in height if I remember right. I know the ones on ebay have just regular holes and some have the welded nut on them and that would be the good ones as far as I'm concerned.

I know Mykneesbehurtin said he has the RJS lift kit and I seen that on ebay and it has the welded nut and regular holes like the stock bracket, now if I remember right he has a 2017 trike and he had no problem with the exhaust I guess. And if I remember right Kevin said to use the secondary holes on his lift kit for 2017 and up. Now I have a 2018 and have not installed it yet.

The difference oil the DK lift kit is the research and testing they do ... A lift kit should do more than just raise the trike, it should orient the shock in a manner that allows the shock full range of motion. As for the secondary hole, it's got something to do with the excessively large weld on the exhaust, if I'm not mistaken, on the newer Tri's.

I put the 14" Pro Action Shocks with the DK comfort lift for the 14" shocks on and was able to get the full height.

Another huge benny with the DK products, customer service. I purchased a cool -n-clean kit from them and somehow an older bracket found it's way to me (only one that got out ... of course I got it). I had the correct bracket in 2 days ... I shudder to think how long that would of taken with an eBay product. I used to buy stuff from eBay, until the Chinese Virus hit. With eBay sellers, it's kind of hit or miss with customer service. Some are good, most are not.

I am on no way associated with DK Custom Products. Just a huge fan of their customer service, research, testing and products. I feel very comfortable that when I buy DK, I buy with confidence.

I understand about DK custom products, if there was I wouldn't have bought his lift kit or I wouldn't have recommended it to a friend of mine which I helped him put it on. I understand about the difference in the shock with a lift kit versus regular, how are these other people putting on a lift kit from Legend, RJS orginals and so forth putting them on with the big weld, maybe there weld isn't very big or they are grinding it down, don't know, when I put my lift kit on my 2018 I hope I can use the full lift, time will tell whenever I get around to do it, enjoying the ride now and I hope it is better when I put the lift kit on, I know my 2016 rode pretty decent and was happy with it, wished I would have kept it but I have a 2018 now and more power and hopefully I don't have to much trouble with it. I'm not interested at this time in the pro action shocks, I don't put enough miles in a year to justify that kind of money.

I do have a 17 and the key to installing a lift kit on a 17 is to make sure that the axle is as level as you can get it or else the swingarm will contact the pipe when trying to install the lift kit.Cant say if its the same on the 19 and 20's but other than the shocks i dont think there was any change in the swingarm assy. There are some cheap kits out there,i haven't used a DK lift kit so i cant make any statement about them,but i am very impressed with the RJS kits.I have used some of DKs parts,remote oil filter relocation bracket and it is top notch.
