Paranoia Frank don't let it take over your life.
Always had an assortment of Cains in the umbrella tub , and never really walked with one.
After adopting my pup , last winter , and walking him in the dark , we came up on two glowing eyes in the distance from my flash light. Still don’t know if it was a coy dog , or a neighbors dog , as we turned around and kept looking back defenseless.
Thinking of what I would of done with nothing in hand , if a threat ever happened , I now bring my cane on all walks for now on.
Ive realized that it is one of the most effective defense items that seniors can use if used properly. There are Caine Classes that can be taken , as I was amazed of how much damage one can do to another , as long as your not faced to a gun !
Tune into “Caine Masters . Com “ for more info . It’s a jungle out there , and the old is very venerable to attacks , like the fad of sucker punching .
Yes it all takes practice in the use , but if your prepared and know the basics , your still ahead of the game. Just hope you will never half to use it .
Remember what it felt like when grandma wacked you with a hickory branch ? Then think of what a bone shot would feel like from a 3’ piece of hickory . Even a good poke will tune ya up !
Be safe out in this jungle .

I make my own walking sticks.....I have over a dozen now not counting the many i have given away....My favorite woods are sycamore hard maple and iron wood..But i'll use any wood that talks to me...The only time i use them is walking trough the woods i'm not as sure footed as i was when i was a youth......I feel safer with iron wood because its strong as iron and besides if i have to cross a stream using a log bridge you need a strong stick because never know if you might encounter Little John walking towards you from the other side of the log.......

I keep my cane in the trunk of my Freewheeler always, I never leave home with out it. My left leg is pretty much numb all of the time so I walk with my cane for the most part. I have several crushed discs and severe nerve damage dating back 20 years

I must have been bored what with the Virus and no place to go, But i did a recount on how many walking sticks i made....Its more like 30, Half of the fun is walking through the woods and looking up at a branch and saying hey that one is perfect ...Then cut it debark it hand sand it to keep the grain and natural shape so its not just a straight stick...Then decide if it will look better clear poly coat, stain ...Or hand rub paint on it..
And some i will just leave natural with a turtle wax coating...

Need that sharp crook on the end. Walkers are cool , but I heard you can’t board a plane with one. Plus you can twirl it with the crook. And walk like Charlie Chaplin ....
