    Default 2020 TriGlide

Well, started noticing right fender making some noise. Pulled the wheel off & of the 6 screws holding it on ,only 1 was tight ,4 a little loose, 1 sticking out a little. Tightened all.

Decided to check left side even though no noise. One completely missing others were ok. NICE JOB Harley. Also when dealer removed the body for shock install, they found the Pan Hard rod was completely loose from the day we brought it home. Where's your quality control HD . No wonder your driving life long customers away. You charge more & more and your quality is less & less. The suspension you put on these bikes has not been quality for years, just absolute JUNK.

Out of the 8 new bikes I have purchased not one has ridden good till many extra $$ spend to make it so. I am done this is my last one. Sorry for the rant folks this was the last straw for me.
2020 TriGlide Tahitian Teal aka (Hawaiian Hussy). Avon frt & Comfortred rear tires. ProAction frt & rear susp. RZ seat. DK floorboard extension & rear axle retainer kit with EBS, HD pull -back bars. Custom Dynamics front turn signals & Vent grill. All ,HD "Edge Cut " accessories.

Posse Rider i know how you feel as you know i have had numerous issues with my 17.My neighbor just got a 2020 and while we were removing the handrail we noticed that the shock adjustment knob wasn't bolted down,i know its a small thing but for $40,000 these bikes should be correct.

Late 80s to late 90s HD was pretty much on the ball. Now the bean counters ratchet it up to make more profit and an inferior product by many standards.

Makes me want to stick with my 16 Tri, since it is all sorted out.

I agree 100% with this, my 97 softail custom and my 02 road king ran good with no problems except my 97 had some problem at first but harley fixed it with no problem and it was out of warranty to boot, guess harley said that shouldn't have happened so they fixed it, after that no problems at all, wish I still had them but got rid of them.

So sorry to hear this, just makes me wonder what harley is doing at their factory when building them, wonder if it was built on a Friday and people are wanting to get out of there or a Monday with hangovers, their quality has went down big time, it's a wonder they are still in business with all the problems they have, no wonder sales are down, people hear about this and they go a different direction.

I love this new 117 & so far it is running great. Guess they finally got the M8 right .Took them ,what, 3yrs ? Anyway ,my rant is about all the stuff they left loose. Only 7500 on this new bike & seems like every time I look, something else is loose. The pan hard rod was loose the very first day I rode it home. I found out yesterday, (a bolt fell out of the fairing) they no longer use that brass insert. They now have a cheap "body nut " clipped in there. Talk about CHEAP !!. Anyway, to clarify, happy with engine & tranny, unhappy with sloppy assembly.

I had a similar experience when I bought my new 2019 TriGlide. The left fender rattled at times when riding over certain surfaces and even when I released parking brake. When I removed the wheel, I found the attaching hardware was not properly seated. I also found there was too much lock-tight on the threads which made it extremely difficult to tighten the nut properly. After removing the lock-tight and then using the "Blue" strength lock-tight, I was able to reattach the fender as the factory should have. Note, the right fender was installed just fine.

With over 60 years of riding and the purchase of 19 Harleys (includes my wife's rides), I witnessed the improvements made in overall quality and now I see the deterioration of quality in both assembly, components and engineering. I hope the new leadership will address this disappointing trend.

Man, that is sad to hear.

Unfortunately HD has gone the way of most companies. Only looking at their bottom line.

They look and see that the average rider only puts 3500 miles a year on their Harley. They have a 2 year warranty.

Do the math. On average, after 7,000 miles any problem is paid for by the Customer, not them.

Yes, you can get an extended warranty from them...but did you notice how much of a rate increase there was over the last couple of years? Obviously to pay for an increased amount of extended warranty claims.

    Sad.

The good thing is that they are still trying to meet the Customers desires for a vintage looking bike, with as close as the EPA will let them, with the Harley sound.

The bones are good...just needs some TLC to get it how you want if you're a higher mileage rider.

Afraid you are right Kevin. However a very few are like my wife & I. 10k to 15k almost every season. We did 46k on that 16 in 3 summers. Already 7500 on thjs 20 with a couple rides canceled due to China Virus. I am going with Jim Palmer on ESP near end of the 2 yr warranty. Have already changed all other Insurance to him. Got better coverage & better rates. Some rates were about the same ,But , much better coverage.

I too plan to get an ESP from Jim after my factory warranty / current ESP expires. Heck I didn't even know it but the dealer I bought my 2020 TG from was running a special at the time and I got a 3-year Harley ESP on my TG. So two years factory warranty and an additional year ESP.

And Jim finally got licensed for insurance in TN. I just got a super policy through him with Allstate. I've been with Foremost for over 15 years and he beat there renewal rate considerably. I hope he can do the same on my homeowners and auto when they renew in early January.

MoCo lost many good OLD TIMERS (Riders) some years ago and will NEVER RECOUPthere following.........IMHO they priced themselves OUT of the MARKET!

They not only priced out, shoddy workmanship is the other nail in the coffin. For me that is their real downfall. Every thing goes up in price. I have always payed cash for my bikes. Its a toy, not a necessity . Look at what cars & trucks now cost. Everything now costs more than it should. Shoddy workmanship is MY biggest complaint, looks like Harley is returning to the AMF days of old. I quit riding them & switched to British bikes.. When Willie G & the rest bought it back, a few years later I started back. Not sure how many here remember the AMF years, but I do. Bought my 1st HD out of s farmers barn, 1936, 80ci. I was 15 . in 5 yrs the only thing I put on that old vibrator was a coil, that was bad when I bought it in 1959.

AMF was more concerned with volume, that said they did pour tons of money into HD. They gave the nod to the 5 speed tranny and the Evo engine just in time to allow the buy out IMO. WE saw a slow and steady rise in a better product till the Twin Cam engine came along and showed several short cuts by the bean counters once again

Me too. I still have a 1979 Electraglide in my garage. Ride it about 500 miles a year, maybe. Rest of the time I work on it. Funny thing is I had a 1981 (last year of the AMF bikes) Low Rider. That bike never broke down on me and the wife. Should have kept the 1981 and got rid of the 1979, it is a piece of junk. Looks good though.

Most new engine designs had some issues, the early EVO's had porous engine cases and the early Twin cams had the cam bearing issue and the M8 is still after 4 years still fighting some demons. But what i am seeing is how the MOCO is dealing with these issues, most people that i personally know who had issues with the EVO and Twin cam the problem was taken care of by the dealer with the MOCO blessing, but now it takes a act of congress to get a bad issue fixed without the company trying to weasel out of paying for it.Plus now we are seeing sloppy assembly,HD better get a handle on things or Indian will be the only builder of big twin touring bikes. If Indian made a factory trike i would buy one.

I don't see why Indian doesn't make a Trike...They have the perfect engine for a trike..
