Bad ride for the wife - 2016 HD Tri
Just picked up our 2016 Tri-Glide from the dealer on Saturday. Sweet deal only 3300 miles and the wife says it feels like being in a 14' boat on Lake Michigan with 3' waves. What the heck can I do to make it better? I checked my tire pressure and it was 26 pounds in both rear. Any ideas?

If you lend someone $20 and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.
There are a lot of things you can do to improve the ride.....But with 3 wheels and 3 different tracks on the ground it will never give a Cadillac ride........

Get the rear tire pressure down to 20-21 psi, that will give an improvement in ride quality, and it's free.

Coil overs will help, however my 2019 still doesn't take the bumps as well as my previous 2 wheel bikes. Riding in Florida and a couple other southern States that have nice smooth pavement is the key IMHO. Illinois, Michigan, Wisconsin and a couple other northern states just don't maintain their roads anymore and it makes for some rough riding no matter what your are in/on.

I highly recommend the 14" proaction shocks and the comfort lift as a kit, the ride is like night and day. Might not be Cadillac quality, but, it's no long back jarring either.
Should be noted, I can't speak for the passenger seat, hard to reach the bars and pedals from there.
We ride 2 up probably 99% of the time. My 2019 has been modified with the 14” lift and PA shocks set up by DK. Rear tires at 22. Ride is about as smooth as it gets. Are there bumps? Yes, but no worse than a car. Cadillac? No, but I didn’t buy a car. We can ride as long as we want, no 3ft waves here
You’ll have to invest some $$, but IMO totally worth it to enjoy the ride. Like others have said, call DK, they shoot straight.

Congratulations on the new to you ride. Welcome to the forum, as others have said Pro Actions are the way to go, pricey but worth every penny. We rode ours for 6 years with OEM air shocks horrible ride! rear tires at 22 lbs. we avoided some areas because roads were to rough. Cross reflection joint bumps in road being the worst and railroad crossings. When presented with an opportunity, I made the investment sorry now I did not do them before now. I also did the front forks now our 09' Triglide now runs like a sport trike it handles so well.There are less expensive shocks than Pro Action but the old saying goes Cry once and get it over with!!! you will not regret it.

Another happy DK customer here with their 14" comfort lift kit. I run 22 -23 psi in the rears, also.

Check the air in your shocks. When I purchased my used 2015, they did not have any air in the shocks and it road like crap!

Other than what has been posted, check the air pressure in you rear shocks soften it up and only have 10-20 lbs in there to start, then go up by 5 lb intervals until you like the ride, 20-22 lbs air in the rear tires. Here is a link to another forum discussing the issue.
