Wondering on cost or if available at dealer?
Wondering on cost or if available at dealer?
HD used to not sell some things that came on the CVO, unless you had a CVO ... seems now they are getting away from that. Lots of things that originally came on CVO's show up as adding for the regular bikes/trikes. My guess, when the new catalog comes out, lots of the stuff from the CVO will be there. Anyone's guess as to the locks
Prob, have to get a new key fob also, if they even offer the locks.

Are we getting so f$#@ing lazy that we can't manually lock a couple locks? How pathetic.

So I have actually pulled the parts list to make this happen. There are two ways to do it and I'll explain a quick difference. The tourpack lock kit is one that you could get on many of the CVO's for quite some time. But adding in the one for the trunk is new to the CVO TG. There are just a few pieces that you need at the actual tourpack and trunk. Those pieces aren't cheap but they aren't super expensive either. You'd have to create your own wiring harness to get the signals to them and make it happen.
The CVO has two ways to lock and unlock these locks. There are switches on the dash that you can click to lock and unlock or you can use the keyfob. The switch kit is again only about $150 so its relatively inexpensive. But the remote receiver and key fob were something like $1000! I would have to go pull those part numbers again to get that together, but it was something too expensive for me to bother with. But, putting the switches in which only work when the key fob is nearby and the bike is turned on is interesting.
It is on my project list for the wife's trike because she ALWAYS has to lock and unlock her trunk. She has had that thing flop open on the road so many times that she just won't trust it anymore. So I was looking to solve that problem. Its just electronics, and I'm good with that. It just hasn't popped to the top of the stack of a million projects I want to take on. But I see no reason it won't work.
