braking and turning

I am new here, but I wanted to get some comments.

I am a 2-wheel tourer looking into trikes.

question:

generally speaking, on 2 wheels you can brake or steer, but not both.

1) can anyone comment on braking rules for the 3-wheeler? Is it a general rule to never steer and brake?

2) I would imagine back brakes are the way to go on a 3-wheeler. can the front wheel get in trouble, if front brakes are used too strongly relative to the rear?

thank you

I agree with the above comments (except sidecar:)). Ride like you would any vehicle. Don't wait until you enter the corner before slowing down. But, if you encounter an unexpected problem in mid-corner, like a deer jumping out, you CAN brake without fear of high-siding like on a 2 wheeler. I just wouldn't make a habit of it. If you are riding in a group with 2 wheelers behind you nothing is more irritating than to be behind a 3 wheeler that always brakes while in corners..... Jim
