Hi, I am relatively new to this forum and have gotten great advice. Thank you all, as I am in the research phase of this 3-wheel thing.
I am 54 yrs old. I had back surgery 1 year ago (lumbar). I stopped riding in 2014 but recently have the itch to start riding again. i know I can still balance ride a large 2-wheeler and probably pick it up, if necessary; however, I feel picking it up may send me back under the knife.
Considering getting a trike, using this forum to study hard. But I also want a bike. I am on the fence.
no one locally seems to let me ride one (HD, Honda, Can am) without a purchase. I think I like the GW trike best, so far.
I have an 18-year old boy. We are taking the 3-wheel safety course together next weekend (can am) and the 2-wheel safety course together the week after (i wanted to retake it and just enjoy it with him).
thoughts?
We rented a Tri Glide for two days while in Daytona a few years back after my wife twisted her knee on our first day there,so it gave me a idea of how the trike handled. That was 2015 and i am now on my second trike and more than likely my last new bike, the wife and i love the trike and we both agree its the best move we have made since she had to stop riding her own bike.
Now i still have a older Road King that i ride back and forth to work and when hanging with my buddies even though most of my buddies all have trikes and two wheelers. I will admit that the Road King is a lot lighter feeling than either of my Road Glides i have owned or my Ultras. The trike will extend your riding years by a bunch so good luck with your decision.
Don’t know your location but the Honda dealer in Marshall Tx allows text rides if you have motorcycle endorsements. Do a google search and contact them. I’ve bought trikes from them in the past. Were great people to deal with.
I can't help you with the test ride but I would say if your dealer won't let you do test rides you're at the wrong dealer.
I would think in Texas and with all the used tri glides that are on the market you'd be able to find one that let you test ride it.
Medical issues forced me to give up 2 wheels, but when I tell you when I got my 17 Freewheeler, I fell for it & when your sitting on it cruising down the highway, you can forget your on a trike...from the seat forward its a motorcycle. Im very happy with 3 wheels and smile every ride.

Just checked their web. Looks like they have a 2006 1300 VTX 17,677 miles $9,999. Motor Trike Conversion. Black. 800-627-7275 should be store number.
