    Default Rainy Day Question...•.?

I hear a few people say something about ;Lifting an inside tire/wheel while making a fast sharp turn with a trike..[Conventional trike].....

My Question is what is the definition of an inside tire/wheel?....;Ie' I'm making a fast sharp ''Left'' Turn....And in my mind if any wheel is going to lift it would be the ''Right'' rear [Outside] wheel and Vice-versa if making a right turn .....??...After running 3 ATC's into the ground over the years, If found that the outside wheel lifts...? And i've done that in purpose many times to make quick maneuvers though the woods... ...

In your first post the laws of physics would be on your side( IE) hard left turn the RS wheel would lift

Exactly.......The only way to lift an inside wheel is to do a Turtle....[In my mind anyway]

But i'll bet that inside wheel thing will come up again.....

Even four wheelers can raise wheels in a turn...

I think you mixed up your left & rights. The only way I see the outer tire lifting is if you first steered into the turn too fast or hard, then tried to correct after the inner tire lifted, but by time you realized it lifted, it was now the outside tire as you corrected to prevent a roll over. Those trail 3 wheelers had low pressure tires that let the 3 wheeler lean and the rider's weight was enough to make the thing almost top heavy.

If making a hard left, it's the inside or most left side tire that will lift if any does, and same if making a hard right, then the most inner (inner being that one closest to the center of the circle which the arc you are prescribing with your hard turn is a part of) tire is going to lift first … that is if one does lift.

    Every turn prescribes an arc.

Every arc is part of a larger circle.

An increasing or decreasing radius turn prescribes many shorter arcs.

I've had a front tire start to slip out on a hard turn, but never had a rear tire lift yet.

I check the speed indicator. Then hit the levitation knob. This maybe listed as anti gravity on your bike. In any case set your control height so all three wheels are clearing the tarmac. Next it is important to dial in the proper radius for your turn! Failure to do so will result in a no turn condition which can be harmful, fatal,or amusing depending on the out come. hope this helps?

Like when i had a Spyder and in the middle of a Jug handle turn the DPS AKA Power steering would turn off and then while man handling the bars to stay in the turn, The power would unexpectedly turn back on...Talk about a white knuckle flight into the grass That was one!....And More than once till they recalled [begrudgingly] Every DPS unit...

Until I read all these post, I was comfortable turning left/right on all types of roads and at all speeds. Now I’m gripping the handlebars, pressing my weak knees against the gas tank and having panic attacks. And this morning while riding l did something really childish.💩 I’m seriously thinking about selling my trike.

Move to Florida all the roads are straight. You will have a few sharp turns, but you can slow down to walking speed for them. You know, like all the old people down there. If you want to fit in with the locals, never use a turn signal. Just turn the signal on when you start the engine, either right or left doesn't matter. Do not turn it off until you've reached your destination!
