Fred, you need to take some credit where it's due.... your already a talented mechanic and from what I can see, a fairly decent body repair man you've got skills brother!
Well its 18+ years old now it needed attention so I opened the body shop. And I will never I repeat never do it again. I simply cannot get up and down that many times again. Even with the lift it was a bad experience, for me as well as all that had to put up with me. so here are the Pics...Before AfterBody work sucks... all I have to say all panels were glued on with fuser epoxy I have a friend assure me it was stronger than welding the new panels on I had to make the inner panels glued and screwed on My friend said it should last longer than the originals.

Fred you continue to amaze me ... ya got mad skills man ... I too was raised by a man that wouldn't pay someone to do stuff that he needed done ... I wouldn't call him self reliant ... he just had me do it. LOL ... he would always be there to make sure I didn't get hurt and also so I did it right.
For my 16th birthday, (actually in April that year - Birthday was in August), he told me he bought me a car. It showed up that afternoon ... on a flatbed trailer. Actually there were 3 of them. A 64, 66 and 68 Corvair. All had titles.
The 64 had a good transaxle and transmission ... a four speed.
The 66 had a great body, but, the automatic powertrain was shot.
The 68 had a low mileage engine and the body was totaled.
He told me as soon as I figured out how to make "it" run safely ... I could get it registered. I was determined to have it running for my birthday. I spent every waking minute (and some I should of been sleeping) working on it. Should be noted, I was working 40 hours a week at a service station doing mechanical work.
I put the transaxle, transmission, shifter and foot pedals in the 66. I also took the engine out of the 68 and put it into the 66. As you can imagine, there were "issues" doing that ... LOL. Always thought my dad was a jerk for making me do that.
On his death bed, he asked me if there was anything he did that I didn't understand. There were two things that sat in my caw ... but, I wasn't sure I should bring them up. He insisted.
1) I asked about the three car thing ... he told me that was to teach me self sufficiency and that no matter what I chose to do, I'd always have that belief in myself.
2) I asked him why the one time I actually beat him on the golf course and won our bet (looser washes the winners car), why didn't he make his bet good ... He told me he did that on purpose, he wanted to teach me life wasn't fair.
So why do I bring this all up ... to thank you for reminding me of the life lessons my father thought me (there where too many to list here). I'm sure we all have those memories ... good or bad ...
So again ... Thank You ... with mom not being well, I really needed to take that trip down memory lane. Kind of recharged me to take on my caretaker role with a more "Consider it all Joy" attitude.
