Okay, so several months ago, like 5 or six, I started getting phone calls from the Colorado State Patrol looking for "Jon". I would explain that I have had this number for like 20+ years and didn't know anyone named "Jon".
I would get 2 or 3 in a week or so, then they would stop for awhile. Lately, I've been getting 3 or 4 a day. No matter what I tell them, they keep calling, always a different Officer. Not sure what it is Jon did, but, I'm glad I'm not him. I tried blocking the numbers, but, apparently the State Patrol have an unlimited supply.
So, I am getting a new phone number ... and got myself an early Christmas present ... an iPhone 12 mini ... I'm thinking it will fit in the little cubby on the Tri ... and, it's 5G ... should be here tomorrow.
Did I use the obnoxious State Patrol calls as a reason to get a new iPhone ... no, because I could of just got one and put it on my old number ... that's my story and I'm sticking to it.
I tried call blocking [Verizon]...And it only blocks that call for 30 days....So if they callback the'll just change one digit on the number......99% of those calls are on my landline, I don't use the land line at all but my Wife does.....And my thoughts on that are that and 20˘ will get you a ride in the subway.....But the Wife is on Amazon all the time....And i swear that they 'Amazon' sells our phone number to phone solicitors........

Alan, I think the Colorado State Patrol have zeroed in on their suspect "Jon" who has been hiding out in your basement. Changing your phone and number makes you appear to be guilty and won't protect you from charges of aiding a potential criminal. He might even be suspected in voting twice for Trump thus making him an extremely dangerous person in Colorado.

WHEN HELP IS OFFERED, A SIMPLE "THANK YOU" IS APPRECIATED.
If you have an Apple phone you can set it to silence unknown numbers not in your contacts, it will automatically roll over to voice mail and you will not be bothered with unknown spam or other callers. However, if it is someone that wants to talk with you they can leave a voice mail.
Does not work for messages though.
I had a call come in on the landline ....And the screen read my name and'' Get this my ''Exact'' landline number.....How they ever were able to do that i'll never know...I didn't answer it nor did they leave a message......

"Robo" dialing. I kept my Va phone # when we moved back to Ohio 9-10 yrs ago. Now all my crank calls are from the 540 area. One woman called me from Va last year, & started raising hell about ne calling her. I had never called her. She said they were all recorded messages selling something. Since then I have called a few # back & got the same reply from others who have been hacked I guess. The DNC list is worthless.

Apparently, that doesn't work against the State Patrol Done that to every number they have called on.
Hmmm ... the cat may be out of the bag I do have some connections in Australia ... once worked there after the Navy ... but, I believe Australia is an extradition country.
Apparently, that doesn't work against the State Patrol Some how the State Patrol gets through.
Beginning to think I should just turn myself in ...
If I didn't know better ... I'd say the State Patrol don't want me to get a number. My new phone and number is lost somewhere between Memphis and here.
