She is getting more like her own self every day .... only been two, but I can see her getting back to normal. Yesterday just before we headed to bed, she actually did have a bowel movement when I took her out. Wasn't much, but, then she hasn't eaten much since her surgery. For dinner last night she had the normal 1/3 cup. I suspect after breakfast, she'll have a more normal one.

Last night I realized that she is walking and navigating way better than her first night home, so, she slept with me in the bed. She started the night at the foot of the bed and shortly after I put the CPAP on, she climbed under the covers, cone and all, and snuggled up to my back. Didn't hear a peep from her until like 5am.

Almost forgot. When going in for her procedure, the first thing they did was weigh her. I was expecting her to be around 13-14# ... sure feels like that when you haul her around .. LOL. Anyway, she was 10.7#, so in just under 5 months, she only gained 4#. I asked the VET about that since I'm not to up on percentile charts ... LOL ... he told me she was absolutely perfect as far as weight and development. He said at this point, 7.5 months old, she probably isn't going to get much bigger, but, will fill out a tad.

All in all, I'm very pleased with how she's doing. I figure in a week, maybe less, she'll be out of the collar and terrorizing me again ... LOL ... she is a handful, but, you just gotta love her.

She still needs to wear the "Cone of Shame" ... I'm guessing early next week she can shed it. This pic shows just how unhppy she is about that

When Kira and I woke this morning there was something different about her ... hmmm ... instead of a nice blue cone, there was just the black ring around her neck. The rest was torn to shreds under my sheets.

Guess she's had enough of the collar ... LOL ... she hasn't even been the least interested in her incision, so, I'm hoping we don't have issues. She did wear it for 5 days ... and the incision looks really well.

Her incision is super glued closed ... my vet said, "Due to her activity level, I opted for three levels of dissolving sutures and the skin closed with ?????". I forfgot what he said, but, when I asked what's that, he said, "Superglue".

He said it's stronger than sutures and waterproof ... still keeping an eye on her ... but so far, so good

Yeah, she might start licking and even biting at the incision so just tell her to stop it and threaten her with another cone every time you see her do it. Hopefully she won't but you just never know. And yep, I'd say she was done with the cone.
