Freewheeler with hard lowers with speakers

Anyone have a Freewheeler with a engine guard, hard lowers with speakers in them? How do they sound? Have any pics? I,m starting to look at trikes and I rode a Tri-Glide but have yet to ride a FW. It looks great with the fairing but would like to keep the weight off the forks. Maybe a Road Glide fairing would look good on the sporty looking Freewheeler.

Where is your radio going to be if your planning speakers in your lowers? I would think a after market fairing with a sound system included would be the best choice. Then if you wanted more sound,get some lowers with accessory speakers. I haven't talked to anyone with a upper fairing radio that needed lower fairing speakers. Plus,the steering on a Freewheeler even with a fairing is still lighter than a Tri Glide. Front wheel size has a lot to do with this. JMHO

I'd have to add a amp someplace and us a I-pod hooked up to it. Trying to figure away to keep the weight off the forks for my better half. So she can ride it also. Probably be better to just add a fork mounted fairing.

One of the reasons I traded my Triglide for a Freewheeler was to "declutter" the trike. I put 'crash bars' (Linby Bars) on that act as highway pegs. For tunes I have an iPod mounted to my bars with bluetooth ear buds. Batteries for both last at least 10 hours, I can turn the volume up until my eyes bleed and not bother a soul. I can tell you, we have asked a couple of riders to find another group to ride with after several hours of 'gansta rapp' blaring. He has to turn the volume up enough to hear it over the wind, pipes, and helmet. Do what ever floats your boat, but I can tell you an iPod and ear buds work great for me.

I use fairing lowers on my Free during the winter and early spring. They come off as soon as its warm enough. You will need a standard touring engine guard with the steering damper plate. You can purchase the pre-Rushmore lowers or the Rushmore lowers (non-water cooled) from various sources that have speaker mounts. The amplifier will have to be located somewhere probably the trunk. I use the Sena BT and get tunes from my gps so I use the fairing lower pockets for storage (lockable).
