And I would be remiss if I didn't thank one other group of people.....

A big huge THANK YOU to the other riders that came from afar to play in Texas Hill Country!!!

Karen and I appreciate you welcoming "new kids" to this event, it was the camaraderie that developed over the four days that made this truly special.

Thanks Chuck and Karen for taking the pics and posting.

Glad everyone enjoyed the rides! We will be putting something together in the near future. Hopefully, you can make it down then as well.

You can never eat enough of apple ice cream and apple pie!

Thanks to everyone for coming to Kerrville. 14 trikes total, not everyone was there everyday.

Pat and Jerry both did a wonderful job, all 4 rides were fun and well thought out.

I love the pictures. Thanks for posting them.

    I had a GREAT time!

Thank you to the ride leaders and everyone that came. Lots of territory to cover in so little time!

Met some really neat folks and, as always, enjoyed seeing all the beautiful machines.

Special thanks to Jim (cScjhb) for your very valuable input and advice to me for the Spyder!

Got home tue afternoon around 3:00. Had a great time in Kerrville. Want to thank Pat, Lola, Jerry, Paw and Dennis for showing tenderfoots the ropes. WE enjoy the rides and meeting some very nice people. It is nice to put faces with some names. If anyone is in our area, would like to show them the Losess Hills of Ia. There is some nice riding over there. THanks again, we will be back down.

We arrived back home Tuesday night. Diane and I had a wonderful time meeting up with everyone again. It was great meeting NE FARMER - David, SENIORSGT - Bob, HIGHALIDUDE - Chuck, EVERMILL - Ed, CSCJHB - Jim, Kevin and Mary!

Pat and Jerry both did a wonderful job, all 4 rides were fun and well thought out. Hopefully, we can put together another meet later this year.

It was a great time. I got back Wednesday, decided to do the trip back to my house in one day. The day started out a little cold but warmed up and it ended with extreme winds/dust storms. In between was a great day. Thanks again for to all for a great time. I am sure there are more pictures to post.

Glad you all had fun and the weather was good. Would like to attend sometime, but Gramma doesn't want to stay that long. At least we get to ride em before you get there.

Now that you have decided these events are fun, You need to set aside Sept 6-10 for our Maggie Valley event. Lots more good rides and camaraderie.

Not a major ride on interstate except for butt getting tired!!!! I really enjoy long distance riding, not much into bar hopping anymore. Do enjoy riding with a group like we had at Kerrville or a small group for going longer distances. Maybe see you guys this summer, have a high school friend to visit from Chipita Park, I think that is the name of the place.

I am not going to try 800+ miles in one day. Me and the wife would have to become alot tougher than we are now. That is not going to happen Glad you made it ED, nice to meet you. Maybe run into you down the road.

I was thinking about you riding back to Arizona as I was driving my Old Buick with the trike in tow. It was down right COLD.... 39-42 degrees for a LONG ways out of Kerrville! And, I believe 18 wheelers outnumber all other vehicles traveling I-10 by three to one. Glad you made it home OK.

I got home this morning. I originally planned to drive to Arizona in 2 days with an overnight in Deming, NM. but had an unexpected delay. As I entered Arizona from New Mexico, Old Buick went into "limp" mode. Chimes ringing and the dash lit up saying reduced power and speed. And to top that, I was just entering an area of high winds and dust storms. I limped to the next exit (San Simon) about a mile down the road. Nothing but a truck stop with no one able to help Old Buick.

If Old Buick was 50 years old, I could self diagnose and fix things but now all I could do was check the vitals..... oil, coolant, fuel cap, and look for anything unusual. So, there I am sitting in a dust storm surrounded by parked 18 wheelers and Old Buick is dead. Will not start. Helpless feelings. Made a few phone calls and for the next 60 miles Old Buick got great fuel mileage on the back of a flat bed truck with the trike in tow behind the truck. But MY cost per mile was not so great.

The nice folks at Kempton Buick in Safford, AZ. quickly diagnosed number 4 injector had stuck open and created an electrical shut down of Old Buick in order to prevent severe engine damage. They got Old Buick running and suggested a complete "injector flush" which I had them do. By the time Old Buick was released from automobile purgatory (after it's owner posted substantial bail), it was quitting time for the day. One more night in a motel and a short 160 mile uneventful drive home this morning.

Lesson learned. In Deming NM. I bought cheap fuel at small independent gas station. Never again. Nothing but top tier fuel for Old Buick from now on.

I, too, want to thank all those involved in preparing and leading the Kerrville rides. I had a blast. The weather was excellent as shown in Chuck's (Karen's) pictures. I did not ride day one. Day two I logged 255 miles. Day 3 was 315 miles and day 4 was 234 miles. A total of 804 fun packed riding in 3 days. It is so good to meet those who were previously faceless forum friends. I mentioned to a couple of people that every person I have met from this forum have been people that I truly like and enjoy riding with. Until next time..... Jim

    Yeah, yeah, yeah.....

    I'm still impressed!

I've got two 500+ mile Trike days ahead of me on this current trip (we headed east from Kerrville, not back to Colorado). I really wanted to complain about them, but doing so now would just make me look like a sissy.....

    :-) :-)

Chipita Park is just west of Colorado Springs. We actually live just north of Colorado Springs in an area called Black Forest. Chipita Park is a nice 30 minuted motorcycle ride away..... While we tend to be "on the road" a bit, I'd be disappointed if you went to Chipita Park and didn't let me know you were in town....
