Next week, I'll be posting the 1st leg of my meet & greet/ride/luncheon event that I will be hosting during the 7th Annual Deadwood 3 Wheeler Rally. This year the ride and stops will be a bit different, that is to say, their sequence will be slightly different.

Instead of traveling Spearfish Canyon north to south, as in my past events, we will do just the opposite and ride the canyon south to north. That will give us a different perspective on the canyon's beauty, for which many have said is the better way to ride and see Spearfish Canyon. Also we will be riding the canyon on full stomachs, for we will be stopping to have lunch at Cheyenne Crossing Café/Gift Shop, prior to riding the canyon.

The ride will be comprised of 4 legs, 4 stops, with the last stop being optional for those that wish to take in other events of the rally that day. As in the past, I will be limiting the number of participants, due to safety reasons, as I won't have a police escort or spotters and I need to make reservations for lunch well in advance of the event.

Each week during January, I'll be highlighting a leg, a stop during the event, with a map and pictorials, so please stay tuned to this channel. Hope you will joining us on Tuesday, July 13th, at 9:30 AM.

The event will take place on July 13th, at 9:30 AM, adjacent and just south of the Days of '76 Museum, same location as last year. A brief ride orientation about the ride, the route, it's stops and safety precautions will take place just prior to leaving. Have your trikes fueled up and ready to complete the event, prior to our meet up. Our destination for Leg #1 will be the Sanford Lab Homestake Visitors Center located in Lead. The admission is free... Watching the attached video, will give you a good idea of what the Sanford Center is all about. Next week I will be discussing LEG #2 of my event, so stay tuned to this channel.

The destination of the 2nd leg of the event is the Cheyenne Crossing Café' & Gift Shop. A reservation for lunch has been made for 12:00 noon. Established in 1878 as a stage coach stop, Cheyenne Crossing has went through a number of renovations and ownership changes through the years. Most of the renovations were due to fires, namely kitchen fires. The last fire occurred in 1959 which took the original structure for good. Dave Brueckner, took over the ownership in 2005 and has been the driving force in making it one of most popular places to eat with fine delicious foods, not only in the Black Hills, but in the mid-west.

​The destination of the 3rd Leg of the event is Bridal Veil Falls, a must stop for anyone riding Spearfish Canyon. This has been a favorite stop for pictures of the falls and frequently an opportunity for at least one group picture. Since we will be approaching the falls from the south this time, extra caution for oncoming traffic will need to be exercised as you cross over their lane to find a parking spot. The same caution needs to be taken when you leave, as you continue the final Leg of the event.

Before we leave our 3rd leg of the event, let's take one more look at beautiful scenic Spearfish Canyon from a motorcyclist's perspective, as he approaches Bridal Veil Falls from the south. The destination of the 4th and final leg of the event will be to complete our ride through Spearfish Canyon, ending up at the DQ in Spearfish, where those of us that still have room for a dessert of ice cream may indulge, whereas those that don't, may opt out and do their own thing. This then completes the event. Until we meet again at next year's D3WR. Ride Safe!

Let it be known that I have decided to resign my position as the Coordinator for the Deadwood SD Rally for TrikeTalk.com. I have held that position for the past 5 years and I felt it's time that I step down and give others the opportunity, if they so desire. I thoroughly enjoyed meeting the many members of this forum and others that have participated in my Meet & Greet/Ride/Luncheon events that I have hosted these past 5 years. To them, I extend my many thanks for making my event even possible. I hope that the future of the Deadwood 3 Wheeler Rally endures well into the future. I have no doubt that it will. This year it made a major comeback with the largest participation numbers in its history after having endured the hardships imposed by the Covid pandemic. A special thanks to our states governor, Kristi Noem, for keeping SD OPEN during the pandemic as well as afterwards, when its threat lessen by a substantial degree. I will continue to be a supporter of the rally and encourage others to attend, to share in their experiences, to fellowship and make friends. As I've said before, we have much in common, for we either have gained or lost a wheel, which makes us rather unique. So to that end, I'll say good-bye for now, with the hopes that our paths will cross again, if not at the rally, then somewhere in between. Ride Safe!

Dear Paul thank you so very much for being the organizer,planner and promoter that you have been to get this rally within a rally going and providing a chance for Triketalk members to meet.I have been able to attend 3 of your 5 events.
