I guess everyone has their idea of what looks good on a motorcycle and what doesn't. Personally a 20" or 22" chrome horn mounted on the side of my motor wouldn't be in my wheelhouse. I certainly hope no one thinks a loud horn is going to save their butt in an emergency because by the time you fumble around with hitting the horn button you will already be dead.
I would be nice for alerting the idiot in front of you that sits there texting on their phone after the light has turned green.

ISP-FL...I just ordered a set of -2 horns. These horns are not meant to save your life...rather alert some dumb cagers that he/she is about to make a TREEIBLE mistake in front of YOU.. 1 has to be ALERT at all times.. Like they say "It's not ME... It's the other guys you have to watch out for. P.S. I have a set of train horns like these on my 2020 F-150 and they do make a difference....believe ME..

My horns finally came in today just about the time it started to rain. I hooked one up to a jump starter box in my family room. It definitely is LOUD.
I took it to the garage and held it in several positions on the trike. It will take some figuring on making brackets to mount it. The first one is going on the motorhome while I ponder the trike mounting. The wife says she wants one on her Jeep Cherokee, and I may get another for my Tacoma.
FYI, the manual lists the working current at 20 amps and recommends using a relay and 12 gauge wire to connect it up. I got two relays at Auto Zone this afternoon.
We're expecting rain or snow later in the week. Projects piling up, 2 (or more) air horns, install heated leather seat covers in the Tacoma and wire the LED off-road lights that I mounted on the front bumper guard before Christmas.

My point exactly Paul. If you want something louder to maybe alert the idiot in front of you that the light turned green 60 seconds ago, then they would work great. Or, if you want something loud of different just for fun then I suppose they would be worth getting. But unlike maybe louder exhaust that is always there, if you let up on your grip slightly to push the horn button on a Harley then you accomplish two things in an emergency IMHO. You may have slightly less handlebar control and you may waste 1 or 1 1/2 seconds of reaction time.

I went to all the trouble of putting a louder horn on my bike and I have yet to use it except to honk at cows watching me roll by. When I could have used it I was busy avoiding the idiot trying to run over me. But I have one none the less. Big waste I’m thinking now.
The only reason some people are still alive is it's illegal to shoot them.

Agreed Bob mostly the only way the horn gets used is largely after the fact when needed. However if you keep the mindset to use your horn in an emergency it may prove useful. For me I'm not sure I have the crisis occasions that I may need a loud one. But thinking this through only needing it once would possibly save your life, nothing you can do will ever replace paying attention. (called Defensive Driving) On the highway these days with so much distracted driving, and I reference all distractions there are hundreds of them. We must be ever alert to what is happening around us. That loud horn may certainly help I'm still on the fence about it though. I once saw a clamp and lever sort of device the you could activate the horn with your thumb, without really changing your grip on the bars. If I can find the old issue of American Iron I will see if they are still in business. Travel safe Fred

Still have trouble locating and using the horn button on My Tri-Glide. I also ride a 2012 FLHTP (Police) the horn button is so much more accessible.
2016 Tri Glide and 2012 FLHTP
I'm a slow learner......I have Tri-Glides since 2011....And i'm still looking for that button...
And retrospect i'm probably better off by paying attention and avoiding an accident than by pissing someone off in a 3 thousand pound vehicle by blowing an obnoxious loud horn And startling them and they hit their accelerator and not their brakes.... .....

I just purchased 2 of these horns. 1 for my Trike and 1 for my Truck to replace the Train Horn, compressor and air tank. They sound just as loud and the Train horn but, don't need a compressor & air tank...Will put on as soon as the weather gets a little warmer here in Mid Ohio..
Here Ron, MotoHorn™ has been developed for the average sized motorcycle application — we’ve carefully calculated optimal trumpet dimensions for maximum loudness while keeping the fitment possible. With little effort, MotoHorn™ can be installed on most motorcycles. To see different mounting solutions, see our customers’ review pictures in the review section above. We’ve seen these horns even installed on sports bikes.
Dimensions:
- Trumpet length: 17.5”
- Trumpet highest point from the mount (ground level): 4.25”
- Compressor dimensions: 4.3” x 2.9”
- Air line length: 15.75” — can be increased without the loss of performance
Total Weight: 2.2 lbs.
PRO TIP: If you can’t fit MotoHorn™ with the universal mount, make a small metal frame for the trumpet, this way you can easily mount it to any available bolt.
