believe me I want to escape people as well. My job keeps me connected 24 //7. Maybe retirement will change the phone responsibilities but I will still choose to be away from people!

Yes I was married to one of those Co. Phones for 5 year 24--7-365 most likely why I strongly dislike them. Only for my convenience. Fred

I've only used the phone to receive a couple very important calls I was expecting and did not want to wait around for. But I do like having Apple CarPlay on the new Boom Box GTS and it requires the phone to be plugged into the USB port via a lightning cable. Otherwise like others I'd have it stowed away. I use the Techmount phone mount. Great products and great customer support.

This is the exact reason I have my phone mounted too. Need to be able to plug into the USB port.

I came to the same conclusion as the overwhelming majority in this thread. I was looking for phone mounts and decided to just leave it in the fairing pocket and not mess with it. Its connected to my Sena so I can call if necessary but not receive as I keep the "Do Not Disturb While Driving" feature turned on all the time whether on 2 or 4 wheels. My manager has also accepted the fact that when I am off, I am not readily available by phone. It helps that he rides too. If he or one of my guys has to call or text, they know I will respond within at most 2 hours (if they're lucky and dependent on the importance) and then continue on my way. That was part of the agreement when they offered and I accepted a supervisor position last year, when I'm off, I'm off unless it's an emergency.

I don't mean to impose myself and my feelings on anyone my background in transportation safety and the epidemic of distracted driving ie. Riding and my age personally I can't afford any more gadgets on the bars. My power vision displays gear selection, engine temperature and not sure what else. And I'm considering removing it now I know where I'm at with heat management each to what you need. Travel safe Fred

I don't consider it an imposition. I have 5 years in a semi all over this country, before cellphones. I would never use mine driving a truck either. I don't even like the handsfree headsets.

Holding a cell or not holding a cell makes absolutely no difference. It's the concentration on the conversation that's the problem. Every single study has shown that.

I never understood the "hands free is safer" argument.......unless your other hand is holding a cup of scalding coffee.

Not in agreement with the in the pocket/trunk crowd. Phone is not just a phone these days, it is a music player, weather warning, traffic tracker and GPS on short trips. (Have a stand-alone Garmin for longer jaunts.) When I ride I don't answer the phone, calls go to voice mail. My favorite mount is the RAM Quick Grip.

Had the RAM X-Grip, and while it works well, I couldn't quite bring myself to trust it on the trike, even with rubber security bands. I like the X-Grip that it holds very securely on all 4 sides. Also have RAM mounts for the GPS, drink holder and such.

I understand where most are coming from about the safety issues of the phones. They are certainly real! I mount my phone for the music using the Sirius XM app or iTunes. Have tried AppleCar Play and the Maps (Apple Maps or Google) are definitely a step up from the H-D integrated Maps. Rokform mount works great for me.

I have mine mounted using Leader Motorcycle products and the brake/clutch mount. I use the large X-grip to hold my iphone 11. Very sturdy. They are of extremely high quality. I had one on my 2009 Ultra Classic and now on my 2019 TriGlide. Really love how well it works.
How many miles do u estimate you have ridden with phone in mount? The reason I ask is because in my research I’m finding the vibration on bikes causes a failure in the image stabilization of IPhone 11 and 12. I am not sure if this is specific to adventure style bikes? I’m thinking the heavier TriGlide may not vibrate as much because they are 2 cylinders and bigger?

Perch mount on the right side so it's close to the compartment with the USB plug.

Good question. I would say about 2000 miles so far. Have not noticed any issues with the iphone yet.
