New Tri Glide Owner -questions on lift kit

Just got the Tri a few weeks ago-2020 black leftover. Still learning at 350 miles. Get better every time, discovering new tricks every time.

I have read a lot about the DK Customs Convertible Comfort lift with 14” Pro Action shocks.

I would like to realize all the benefits that I read about here.

two questions:

1. Does the kit affect the stability and ability to hold the straight line on the highway? If it helps that much on curves and low speed turning, I was thinking that it could make the highway ride harder to hold, or if it requires a lot more constant adjusting?

2. When disconnecting the OEM shocks, is there spillage of hydraulic oil from the pre-load adjuster? I don’t think it is air on the 2019+...

I had the dealer install my PA shocks & they did it with body off & not disconnecting the lines. Kevin at DK says you can disconnect the lines if you back the adjuster all the way off to 0. Whatever you decide, the PA shocks are great. I did not use the lift on my 20,but did on the 16. I had good clearance on the 20. Once the shocks are set to your weights, no need to adjust

There are a lot of folks much smarter then I am, but I like the DK setup. You can set them up for a soft ride or much more aggressive one. Mine is about medium aggressive for the weight requested. I'll let Kevin or one of the DK folks get in to the details. All I can say is that it makes a big difference in my opinion with the ride. Of course I came from old school VW trikes!!!!!!

Welcome to forum and enjoy ur new 2020 ! I can’t help u on the shocks. My 2020 has stock shocks...... for now.

I put on the lift and shocks. World of difference. Put them on the rode from VA to Daytona. The stock shocks are air, no fluid. Took my mechanic (son) about two hours for both lift and shocks. Highly recommended.

Has anyone done a comparison of the DK Customs 14” lift kit with the Legend 13” lift kit (they don’t offer a 14”)?

I'm wondering if the 13" PA shocks will work with the comfort lift brackets. I think I'm understanding correctly in that the bracket also aligns the shocks better for a more proper travel angle.

Yes 13" work just fine that is exactly what I'm running on Old Shiney... you will love the ride and performance of the Shocks and lift. If you really want to upgrade your suspension do the front forks as well that makes the trike another level of of comfort and handling. Ride safe Fred

If you have a lift on the trike now the height will not change mine did not change. Possibly the tighter you set the preload that may raise the trike a little. I swapped tires, shocks and comfort lift all at the same time. I swapped 65 series OEM tires for 70 series tires to lower RPM's at 65-70 MPH Screaming motor at 70 was annoying to me just saying and it worked out great for my or at least I think so. Fred

I believe it will raise your ride that is why they call it a "comfort lift". Comfort lift is a lift with different angles. Message Kevin at DK Customs I'm sure he is more qualified Than I to give details about the lift's properties. All I know I really like the results I have gotten with it. Fred
