Just moved from Jersey to the Tampa area. Used to run Red Line 20W50 synthetic in Jersey and wondered if I should switch to 20W60 now that I’m in FLorida. Riding a 2021 Tri Glide.

20-50 is really a misnomer. It is 20 weight oil with modifiers to make it behave like 50 weight when hot, that does not hold up good especially with dino oils.
Stick with a name brand full synthetic ( not HD Syn3) Not a true full synthetic oil
Best yet if you trust a full synthetic 50 weight like Royal Purple or Redline you will be miles ahead. JMO

I'll assume you have been happy with using Red Line 20W50 synthetic so I would stick with it.
I've lived in Lee County FL and now up in Polk County (a little south east of Tampa). I have experienced some overnight temps here in the low 30's. Also have had a handful of days in the low 50's. Then of course you have a ton of extremely hot days in the summer.
Here is how I look at it, my riding temperature range is still about the same as when I lived up north, 60's to 90's. If it is below around 65 I don't ride, if it is high 90's or over 100 I don't ride. I just never felt the need to change when I moved down here.
Current: 2019 Trike (custom 130ci T-Man kit with Darkhorse bottom end)
Not sure how long you have been living there north of Tampa, but if you want a nice ride to a "Florida style" unique biker bar try visiting Herb's Limestone Country Club, 5127 C. County Road 663, Ona, FL 33865. It will be about 100 miles or so from where you are.
We have been riding there for years and it is a hoot.

I have been running harley 20-50 oil for many many years and no ill effects, I am either lucky or just plain lucky, I know some don't like it but it takes care of me ok. Now granted I don't put the miles on like a bunch of you and that could be why, I don't travel anymore like I used to and with 20-50 harley oil the dealer always had it, with other brands not so lucky
All for now Trampas

I use syn 20-50 in the summer and 10-40 in the winter (I ride all winter here in Chicago). I have used motorcycle specific oils like Mobil1, Amsoil, BelRay, Valvoline, Castrol (never H-D Syn3). I have NEVER had an oil related problem in over 40 years....62 years if you also count all my UJM's.
I've never had a problem getting oil when I needed it. Usually I always buy oil by the case (normally when it's on sale) so that I will NEVER run out of oil.

What month would you be up there in the north Kevin. We are still fine tuning our "limited" western travels for this year. Sometime in August we are hitting Wyoming, Montana, and the Dakotas, just not sure what order and for how long. Been through the Cody area but never ridden the pass.
Current: 2019 Trike (custom 130ci T-Man kit with Darkhorse bottom end)
I never had a oil problem i just use what the manufacturer recommends?...And
as far as running out..You can buy oil anywhere..Why I bet you can even buy it at a bank😁.....Sure back in the good old days (50-60’s)..As the engines got up in miles and burned oil you would charge to heavy straight weigh oil’s....But that was then‘When the the good old days weren’t so good 🤔...
Sometimes a Cigar is Just a Cigar.....

To easy Bob. You're never gonna be a Harley guy if you keep thinkin like that.
We have not nailed down the exact dates, probably sometime late June thru middle of July will be visiting family in Idaho and Montana, then heading over to Yellowstone/Beartooth.
Beartooth pass is just a fantastic ride...the road is great and the views are hard to beat.
I believe the only months we have been thru there are June and July, here are a couple of photos-
Kevin

Sorry I missed you. I was "at" work, lol. I have an office at the house and do well over half of my work here these days.
During the early days of Covid I was doing over 90% of my work from home.
Was there snow on Beartooth Pass this last July when you rode it?
