3000 mile Differential CSC service

The CSC Owners Manual calls for servicing the differential on the Encore Trike at 3000 miles. The manual also is very clear to use traditional grease not synthetic. I was having some brake service and decided to service the differential as my GW is at 2,995 miles. I expected the grease to be clean but much to my surprise it was fairly contaminated. Nothing outrageous and my independent tech said it was typical of what he finds on new trikes. He thinks much of the contaminates are from the manufacturing and assembly process. I used Lucas Oil LUC10043 Oil SAE 80W-90 Heavy Duty Gear Oil which I bought from Amazon. Glad it's done and just one last thing to get done.

CSC has updated their reccomended rear differential service and now requires that the oil be changed at just 500 miles.

Scared me a little - I have a Harley, all belts so no fluids to change.

Thanks Donald, I know a lot of times I compare apples to oranges, it has always been my way of seeing things.

As per my 2023 CSC Encore Owners Manual, 500 miles for the initial Rear Differential Oil change, and every 20K (12.4 thousand miles) after that.
