    Default Hannigan Honda Roadster Handling Query

    Hi Everyone, I am keen to hear from any experiences members might have regarding their Hannigan Honda Roadster Reverse Trike. I have just picked mine up 3 days ago and love the look, style and engineering.

    My Question(s) are : I am finding that the trikes steering wants to meander a lot and on certain roads it rocks me sideways quite a lot which in turn transfers down my arms to the handlebars and of course steering. I am running front tires at 28 PSI and rear Car Tire at 30 PSI.

    Are there any ideas on how I can lessen this sideways movement and the grabbing to the contours of the road?. Any comments appreciated and what might be causing such a behaviour? Thank you in advance.

    Ivan.....Thats a common trait with reverse trikes...The rear tire rides up and down the crown in the center of the road....My Can-am Spyder did that also, What i learned to do was to ride a little left or right of the center....And most importantly ease off the handlebars a little when that does happened ....Your natural instinct is do the death grip on the bars which will intensify the sensation ...

    A reverse trike like yours and a Spyder ride and handle differently than a traditional trike. I have owned both. Suggest you look at SpyderLovers Forum for tips about riding. Good luck..... Jim

    With a reverse trike, the front wheels seem to hunt for "tread grooves" in the road, if they are very deep it will move you around quite a bit. Putting one of the front tires in either groove seems to help. It takes a while to get used to it, I have over 40,000 miles since reverse triking mine. YMMV

    My Hannigan Reverse trike handles much better now days. Had a specialist Wheel Aligner do a great adjustment job and let front tire pressures down to 18 psi. This combined with the advice from you guys about minimising the amount of time the rear tire on crown of the road and loosening the grip on the handlebars. Cheers Flash from Down Under.

    I'm running 17 in the front tires and has been fine. Early in our ownership we had a front end alignment problem that took me a while to figure out. Long story short, the front had a tad bit of toe-in from an encounter with a pot hole that made the trike wander around and hard to handle at higher speeds. Ended up with a touch of toe-out and it handles great. Glad you it came around for you!
