LED Resistor location

I'm going to be replacing the incandescent taillights & turn signals on my 2020 Goldwing/Roadsmith trike. There just aren't enough lights on the back of the trike, and the lights that are there are pretty dim. My buddy told me he could hardly see them when he was following me.

I'm also wondering why they didn't make the rear turn signals amber. That would make it easier to see from behind.

1) Do I need a resistor for each bulb (4 of them)

2) Where would be the best location to put the resistors? I'm thinking somewhere under the seat since the light housing is plastic and would melt due to the heat.

If you use the led versions of the standard light bulbs... 1157 and others like it no resistor is required... they are FFF.... fit form and function direct replacement for their incandescent bulbs.....they are readily available everywhere you can buy incandescent bulbs, ie auto stores wally world et al.....you don't have to get the motorcycle specific ones. if your brake and turn signal use an 1157... then replace it with the led version... head light bulbs are a bit different....but I have replaced my halogen bulbs with led bulbs...did not require any changes....

3157 bulbs are LED designated. There is a 3157R for rear running, turn and brake lights

You can find a good selection @ Walmart for a better price than @ an automotive jobber
