Hello to the Trike Talk forum. Just purchased a 2021 Tri Glide Ultra that will be delivered tomorrow. Never owned a trike (or motorcycle) before. I took a rider safety course a few years ago when I lived in Chicago, but decided not to buy anything at the time. After moving back to Ohio I figured you only live once and just went ahead with this purchase. Plenty of empty roads around here to slowly get used to everything. I'm also looking to see if any of the Harley dealers around here are offering their trike classes again. Just wanted to say hello.

Thanks everyone. And thank you for moving the post. After I created it I saw my initial notification letting me know this is the best place to post my welcome message. I forgot to mention this trike had a bunch of upgrades already installed. Rinehart exhaust, tour pack, rear chrome bumper, new grips, etc. Can't wait to start cruising around Amish country.

Welcome to the forum. Since you are a new rider always remember:

1. If you are smaller than them, you don't exist.

2. THINK WIDE!!! Just because you see a motorcycle out front, it does get wider behind you and easy to hook a rear wheel when making a close pass.

Welcome to the cuckoos nest, part II. Ride safe and as others have said, don't hang a rear fender when fueling. Angle in, nose first. Just enough that when done, you can hard right the bars so as not to back away from the pump.

Thanks again for the welcome. Got a chance to ride around the school parking lot to get familiar with how everything operates. Need to work on 90 degree turns. I was holding the clutch in and making the turn, but I remember from my class that downshifting and braking should be completed before making the turn (and not holding in the clutch). But the trike feels so different than 2 wheels in a turn. Just need to get used to what gear I need to be in and how slow I can actually go in that gear before it wants to stall.

Can't find a trike class anywhere near me. I contacted a few dealers asking if they were planning on offering one in the future. I might just head to a bike night and chat with other TG riders.
