It"s really easier than it looks. 2 bolts on the master cyclinder and remove the nut holding the pedal on and you can wiggle it out and forward. Enough to get the switch swapped out. I will agree it's a lousy place for them to put the switch.

I had the switch on both my '14 and '17 TG replaced under warranty. My first indication of failure was the brake lights staying on after the bike was hot (never happens in Florida, right?). Forget what the code it threw was, but the red fault light came on.

Make sure you buy the latest switch, it ends with an E. That tells you they have updated the switch 5 times and hopefully they got it right this time. But don't hold your breath.
